Let me be crystal clear about something. I’ve taken heat for going after Democrats. I’ve taken heat for going after Republicans. I’ve had people cancel subscriptions, send threatening emails, and tell me I’ve lost my mind. And every single time, my response is the same. Did I say anything that wasn’t true? Because if I told the truth, I don’t have anything to apologize for.

That’s the deal here. That has always been the deal here.

The Convenient Double Standard in Political Media

Here’s how it works in modern political media, and this is the scam I want you to understand. Every outlet, every pundit, every podcast that wraps itself in one political flag will hammer the other side relentlessly while quietly ignoring the exact same behavior from their own team. It’s a loyalty racket. And the audience is the one getting played.

When Obama said “you didn’t build that,” I called it out. Conservative media called it out. And they were right to do so. That philosophy is corrosive to everything that makes private enterprise work.

But here’s the inconvenient part:

• The same standard applies to everyone. When a leader stands on stage and tells an audience he has done more for them than their own parents have, that is not normal. That is not funny. That is not Trump being Trump.
• Nobody laughed. When the crowd of loyalists and sycophants at a post-White House Correspondents event looks visibly uncomfortable, something is off. You can’t spin that away.
• The Truth Social spiral was real. Hours of posts, one after another, escalating in intensity. Go look it up yourself. I’m not asking you to take my word for it.

Why This Matters Beyond Politics

You might be wondering what this has to do with your money, your financial security, your retirement. Here’s the connection. The people making economic policy, setting tariffs, influencing the Fed, and moving markets are the same people exhibiting this behavior. That’s not a small thing. That’s the ballgame.

When leadership becomes erratic, markets feel it. Uncertainty costs you money. Policy whiplash costs you money. And a media environment that refuses to honestly assess the people in power leaves you flying blind.

I said a prayer for the man. Genuinely. I’ve voted for him three times. But prayer and accountability are not mutually exclusive. The moment I start protecting any politician from honest scrutiny is the moment I stop being useful to you.
