$2.5B Airline Bailout? Taxpayers Take the Hit Again

So now we’re going to get more airline bailouts. They’re going to take more of our tax money to bail out more airlines. I couldn’t make this up if I wanted to. A group of budget airlines, including Frontier and Avello, they’re looking for $2.5 billion in government assistance. Yeah, there’s a sure.
Sure, we’ll give you, we’ll give you, you know, warrants to convert into stock in the company. Just give us $2.5 billion. Yeah, they came up with the $2.5 billion by calculating how much more they estimate spending on jet fuel this year compared with their earlier forecasts. The estimate assumed jet fuel prices would remain above $4 a gallon on average for the rest of the year.
huh. Conversations about a potential economic aid package are expected to continue in the coming days. Low cost airlines have been heartened by Trump’s statements that he says he likes having a lot of airlines so it’s competitive. huh.
This is horrible, people. I can’t stress just how bad this is.
There’s nothing. There’s nothing conservative about this policy. This is straight up state capitalism. That’s what it is. If you don’t make it, there’s nothing wrong with failure.

Nothing. For every single time, how many things I’ve failed at in my entire life, every failure leads to a success. If you can’t make it, then you shut down.
That’s just the way the world is supposed to work if you want to have productivity and growth. These airlines aren’t stupid.
They say, holy crap, can get ourselves hundreds of millions of dollars? Fantastic.
Hey, I wouldn’t be surprised if, you you gotta get some, you gotta give them some salaries to some executives for scoring this big deal too.
But what happens if these budget airlines go out of business? yeah, they got warrants. They got warrants that could turn into equity positions. Do you understand that those things are worthless in bankruptcy? We the taxpayer, which is going to be giving these airlines the money, nothing, zip, zilch, nada. Crap, they’re going to still charge us. These are all budget airlines. They’re going to still charge you.

I keep thinking of the beginning of the Godfather. He’s sitting there and he’s talking about his daughter and how she got railroaded in a courtroom and how the two people that abused his daughter and raped her, they just sat there in a courtroom and they smiled at me. That’s what they’re doing.

You’re not gonna get there’s no justice here This is the Trump administration taking your money and Giving it to oh, yeah, we’re getting equity position.
