Republicans Admit Their Midterm Plan: Make You Hate Democrats More. Wall Street Loves That You’re Too Angry to Notice the Real Theft

They Told You Exactly What the Plan Is. You Just Have to Listen.

A Republican operative tied to Trump’s political machine just said the quiet part out loud: ‘Voters have to hate the Dems more than they hate us.’ I read that Sunday morning, put it down, and went for a walk along Bay Shore in Tampa. Not because I was surprised. Because I knew exactly what it meant for every American trying to protect their financial life.

This is the strategy. Not policy. Not ideas. Not a single concrete proposal to fix the spending catastrophe, the debt spiral, or the purchasing power destruction that is eating your retirement alive. Just hate. Manufactured, deliberate, algorithmically optimized hate.

And while you are busy hating whoever they pointed you at this week, they are passing a 1.15 trillion dollar defense bill and heading out on vacation.

George Orwell Called It in 1984. They Made It Into a Campaign Strategy.

The Two Minutes of Hate in Orwell’s 1984 was a daily ritual. Party members watched enemies on a screen and screamed. The point was never about the enemy. The point was to burn off discontent and keep people from looking at what the party was actually doing.

Republicans put up Bernie and AOC. Democrats put up Trump and Elon. Everybody loses their mind. Nobody reads the bill.

Here is what is actually in the bill nobody is reading:

• A 1.15 trillion dollar NDAA that ties military and intelligence operations more tightly to foreign engagements.
• Sixty billion dollars more flowing to Pentagon operations connected to the Iran conflict.
• Another twelve billion dollar farm subsidy because fertilizer prices spiked due to war. The last twelve billion was because tariffs. There is always a reason.
• No actual budget passed. Just more continuing resolutions that lock in bloated baseline spending forever.

The Crony Capitalism Machine Is Running at Full Speed

I have been a libertarian-leaning conservative for most of my adult life. I do not recognize what either party is selling right now as anything close to what conservatism was supposed to mean.

Character matters. It used to. Crony capitalism is supposed to be the enemy, not the business model. Tariffs are taxes on American consumers, not foreign governments, and everyone in Washington knows it. The Constitution is not a flexible document to be bent around whoever holds power at the moment.

What we have now is a bipartisan spending and power machine wrapped in culture war packaging, designed specifically to keep you angry at your neighbor instead of at the people actually picking your pocket.

Wall Street Benefits From Every Bit of This

Here is the part the financial media will not tell you. Political dysfunction is good for certain players on Wall Street. Continued government spending means contracts. Massive defense budgets mean defense stocks. Farm subsidies mean agribusiness profits. Currency debasement from deficit spending means asset price inflation that benefits people who already hold assets and punishes everyone trying to build wealth from scratch.

The noise is not accidental. The noise is the product. And the product is your distraction.

I Refuse to Vote for Less Bad

I am getting messages from people unhappy that I say I am not voting for less bad anymore. That is fine. I would rather be honest with you than tell you comfortable lies.

What I will keep doing is cutting through the hate programming to tell you what is actually happening with your money, your taxes, your purchasing power, and your future. Because someone has to. And it is clearly not going to be the party that just admitted its entire strategy is to make you hate someone else more than you hate them.
