9/11 at 25: The Division Machine Is Still Running and Someone Is Getting Very Rich Off Your Anger
The Blue Screen Nobody Wants to Talk About
Remember the old Windows PCs? Blue screen of death pops up, everything freezes, and your only move is a hard reset. That is America in 2025. We are frozen. The screen is blue. And the people who control the machine have zero incentive to let you reboot because the chaos is making them rich.
On the 25th anniversary of 9/11, I am not here to do the standard ceremony routine. I am here to call out what actually happened to this country since that day and who has been profiting from the wreckage.
The Outrage Industrial Complex Is Real
I want you to think clearly about who actually benefits from the constant political warfare you see every single day. It is not you. Here is the list:
- Algorithm engineers at social media companies who get paid based on engagement, and nothing drives engagement like rage
- Cable news hosts and influencers whose entire income model collapses if you stop being angry
- Politicians who have discovered that a terrified, furious base is a reliable ATM
- Defense contractors and the military-industrial complex who are currently lobbying for 1.5 trillion dollars in next year’s defense budget
Follow the money. It never lies.
A 25-Year Balance Sheet of Bad Decisions
Since 9/11, this country has racked up a serious tab of policy failures that nobody in power wants to audit honestly. I am going to do it anyway.
- The Patriot Act gave the government surveillance powers over American citizens that were sold as temporary and became permanent
- Foreign policy adventurism burned through trillions of dollars and produced outcomes that any honest analyst would describe as catastrophic
- Defense spending has ballooned in a straight line regardless of results, because the people writing the checks are also funding the campaigns
- Political division was not an accident. It was manufactured and monetized, and the product being sold is you
What a Real Reset Looks Like
I have shared my personal 9/11 story on this show before. I was close to it. My wife, my sister, people I knew. After that day, at Markowski Investments, we sent out hundreds of FDNY and NYPD caps to listeners across the country. People were calling in from everywhere. It was genuine. It was real unity, not the manufactured kind you see politicians perform on television.
That moment taught me something. People want to connect. The division is not organic. It is being pumped in through your screen every single day by people who are getting paid to keep you at each other’s throats.
Somebody Has to Say It Out Loud
I am not pretending this is easy. The powers that profit from the current system are enormous and deeply entrenched. But 25 years is a legitimate milestone to stop, assess, and demand better.
- Stop treating everyone who disagrees with you politically as an enemy
- Demand an honest accounting of every foreign policy and domestic policy failure since 2001
- Recognize that the influencer screaming into your phone is not your friend, they are your product
- Push back on a defense budget that keeps growing while infrastructure, healthcare, and retirement security get gutted
I know this sounds like wishful thinking. But I have been doing this long enough to know that the first step to fixing a broken system is refusing to pretend it is not broken. The screen is blue. It is time to reset.
