Trump vs. the Pope: Faith, Politics, and a Growing Divide
(00:01.326)
Trump goes after the Pope. This is gonna be difficult for me because I’m trying very, very hard. Very, hard because I’m Catholic and I’m trying to tone down, I guess you call them attacks. I’m trying to be as base as I possibly can when it comes to these things. But again, this is one of those moments when you get up in the morning and…
I gotta go checking various different, you know, searches and AI models to see if certain things actually are real or not. Because to me, they were just unbelievable. Unbelievable. I gotta, you know, I keep using that word. It’s like, and you go Montoya again, you keep using that word unbelievable. I don’t think it means what I think it means because every single day, nothing should really shock us anymore.
really quickly, this is, this is a really, it was actually a great way of putting real Catholicism in real Catholicism. People, know, go to church a couple of times a year. it’s, it’s hard. Okay. It’s not easy. Okay. It’s not easy. It requires a lot out of you.
It asks a lot. It is all encompassing, okay? It demands everything, everything. It makes you uncomfortable, okay? It challenges you, and it’s supposed to.
It’s supposed to, we’re supposed to aspire to be a saint. That’s hard. It’s really, really hard to do. And this world that we live in, I can’t function without it. I talk about fundamentals, talk about financial planning, I talk about fundamental support. We all need to be constantly.
(02:23.65)
So you go to church all the time, you pray, you read the Bible all the time. You have to, okay, because you have to. The world is a wicked place and we’re getting hit from all angles all the time. And I do believe it’s gotten worse instead of better. We’ve talked about social media and all the various different things out there, the garbage on TV. It’s constant, man. You’re being barraged. Okay. You need this and you need to self-evaluate every single day.
It’s a religion of ultimate, your humble humility. I am broken, I am a sinner, and I have to do better. And I have to check myself every single day. And you know what? We’re all gonna fail. And that’s the beauty of it. You pick yourself up.
You pick yourself up, it’s a whole, you’re forgiven and you, you know what? You try to do better. You must do better. It asks a lot. It really does. Again, people don’t understand. Maybe you understand a little bit more where I come from. Anyway, anyway. I’m gonna start, because I’m gonna go through it, because maybe people heard about I if they’ve read it. It is truly unfortunate. Because again, what the media doesn’t go through,
the entire statement by the Pope. know, Saturday had a prayer vigil for peace. Gee, that’s awful. Terrible. that’s that’s my God. I just wow, it’s a shocker right there. But anyway, this is the Trump put out 500 word. Pope Leo is weak on crime.
and terrible for foreign policy. He talks about fear of the Trump administration, but doesn’t mention the fear that the Catholic Church and all other Christian organizations had during COVID when they were arresting priests, ministers and everybody else for holding church services, even when going outside and being 10 and 20 feet apart. I like his brother Louis much better than I like him. Again, did this guy have a
(04:42.112)
and F’d up memory. He was president when this stuff went on and his people ordered all this. Again, guess it goes, mean, for some reason, people forget that he implemented all this stuff. It was his guys. was Fauci. It was his people. He’s the one that didn’t listen to Scott Atlas. But anyway, neither here nor there. I like his brother Lewis much better than I like him because Lewis is all MAGA. He gets it.
And Lugio doesn’t. I don’t want a pope who thinks it’s okay for Iran to have a nuclear weapon. I don’t want a… Yeah, because that’s what the pope said. He says he wants Iran to have… Yeah, that’s exactly what he said. I don’t want a pope who thinks it’s terrible that America attacked Venezuela, country that was sending massive amounts of drugs into the United States, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers into our country. First and foremost, no. Okay, that’s…
to, you know, I’m sorry people. Again, he understands, Trump understands that you just keep repeating a lie over and over and over again. People believe it. No, no, massive amount of drugs were not coming from Venezuela into the United States. It’s just not true. Just not true. Okay, I don’t want a pope who criticizes the president of the United States because I’m doing exactly what I was elected in a landslide to do, record setting low numbers in crime and creating the greatest stock market in history.
not the greatest stock market in history. Yeah, crimes down. think that’s great. Good job. He never attacked, you know, going after crime ever, ever. No, no, actually, our stock market has underperformed. Basically every, you know, emerging market in the world, not emerging markets, every, you know, stock market almost in the world since he became president. You don’t believe me? Don’t believe me.
Yeah, because you probably don’t believe me because Trump says it and you believe it. Why don’t you check to see if what he says is accurate? Yeah, media doesn’t. You can’t even keep up with the BS. It’s hard. It really is hard to keep up with all the BS. No, it’s not the greatest stock market in history. Okay, you’re not even in, you’re not even Reagan’s ballpark. Okay, and again, look around the globe.
(07:11.18)
The Athens market outperformed the Italian market outperformed French. They all outperformed us since you became president. That’s just facts again. Okay. Try not to yell. Try not to yell. Try not to stay calm here. But again, it’s hard. I again, it’s that’s that’s a weird thing too. Yeah. More you throw your you try to throw yourself. try to do if you get, you. Injustice. Evil lie. They they bother you.
I have a reaction to them and I got to try to handle them a little bit. I wish I could, again, you listen to the the Pope handled the president, we’ll get to that in a bit. yeah. Leo should be, this is hilarious. Donald Trump actually takes credit for him being Pope.
(07:59.544)
Leo should be thankful, as everyone knows he was a shocking surprise. He wasn’t on any list to be pope and was only put there by the church because he was an American. And they thought that would be best way to deal with President Donald J. Trump. If I wasn’t in the White House, Leo wouldn’t be in the Vatican. Unfortunately, Leo’s weak on crime, weak on nuclear weapons, does not sit well with me, nor does the fact that he meets with Obama sympathizers like David Axelrod, a loser from the left, who was one of those who wanted churchgoers and clerics to be arrested.
Leo should get his act together as Pope use common sense stop catering to the radical left and focus on being a great Pope not a politician. It’s hurting him very badly. And more importantly, it’s hurting the Catholic Church. No, it’s not man. Catholic Church is growing like gangbusters. Okay. Your MAGA coalition falling apart brah. Anyway.
Okay, so after that, he tweeted a picture of himself in robes looking like a saint, an apostle, Jesus, healing a sick person, surrounded by people in adoration. And it wasn’t an original photo. Somebody else made this on AI, one of his MAGA supporters.
However, why don’t you take a real close look? There were soldiers that were up in the clouds in the original photo. For some reason, gee, I don’t know, they decided, again, this is not conspiracy theory, go look. They replaced the soldier in the clouds in the middle with something, and again, this is not, I don’t even like saying this, because again, it makes me sound.
Again, from saying it sounds like it sounds like it’s gonna be like a bad B movie replaced by a basically a looks like Baphomet. And if you’re not Baphomet is look it up. Don’t believe me compare the pictures. Go look.
(10:10.178)
Cool. Why would I make that up? Why? You think I like reporting on this?
(10:23.214)
I’m gonna read to you what, I one of the things that got Trump all bent out of shape. And it’s lengthy, okay? I’m curious to, you know, if you have a problem with any of this. And yeah, yeah, I get a lot of, I get a lot of, you get flack from, you know, again, I’m not gonna even get into it. Dear brothers and sisters, your prayer is an expression of that faith.
which according to the words of Jesus moves mountains. Thank you for accepting this invitation to gather here at the tomb of Saint Peter and so many other places around the world to pray for peace. War divides, hope unites, arrogance tramples upon others, love lifts up. Idolatry blinds us. It does. I want you to idolatry people, it’s It’s stuff, worshiping items, material, it does, okay?
Idolatry blinds us, the living God enlightens. My dearest friends, all it takes is a little faith, a mere crumb of faith in order to face this dramatic hour of history together. As humanity alongside humanity, prayer is not a refuge in which to hide from responsibilities, nor an aesthetic to numb the pain provoked by much injustice. Rather,
It is most selfless, universal and transformative response to death. We are a people who are already risen. Within each of us, within every human being, the interior teacher teaches peace, urges us toward encounter and inspires us to make supplication. Let us rise from the rubble. Nothing can confine us to predetermined fate, not even in this world where there has never, never seems to be enough graves for people to continue to crucify one another.
and eliminate life with no regard to justice and mercy. In the context of the tooth, again, this happened, okay? Again, don’t know if anybody remembers this, but I do, okay? Because I remember again, I believe Bush.
(12:39.092)
I remember with Pope John Paul, he don’t do this. And I’m like, well, maybe, I don’t know. know, I’m thinking in my mind, you know. Anyway, context of 2003 Iraq war crisis, St. John Paul II, a tireless advocate for peace, said with deep emotion, I belong to that generation that lived through World War II, and thanks be to God, survived it. I have the duty to say to all young people, to those who are younger than I, who have not had this experience, no more war.
As Saint Paul the sixth said during his first visit to the United Nations, we must do everything possible. We know well that peace is not possible at any price, but we all know how great is this responsibility. I make his appeal my own this evening, relevant as it is today.
(13:40.819)
And I’m gonna read at the service of the kingdom of God, a kingdom in which there is no sword, no drone, no vengeance, no trivialization of evil, no unjust profit, but only dignity, understanding and forgiveness. It is here that we find a bulwark against that delusion of omnipotence that surrounds us.
and is becoming increasingly unpredictable and aggressive. The balance within the human family has been severely destabilized. Even the holy name of God, the God of life, is being dragged into discourses of death. A world of brothers and sisters with one heavenly father vanishes as in a nightmare giving way to a reality populated by enemies. We are met by the threats rather than the invitation to listen.
to come together. Brothers and sisters, those who pray are aware of their own limitations. They do not kill or threaten with death. Instead, death enslaves those who have turned their backs on the living God, turning themselves and their own power into a mute, blind, and deaf idol. It’s from the Psalms, to which they sacrifice every value demanding the whole world bend its knee. Enough of the idolatry of self-
and money, enough of the display of power, enough of war, true strength is shown in serving life with evangelical simplicity. St. John Paul the 23rd once wrote, the benefits of peace will be felt everywhere by individuals, by families, by nations, by the whole human race and echoing the incisive words of Pius the 12th, added, nothing is lost by peace, everything may be lost by war. But it’s therefore unite.
the moral and spiritual strength of the millions and billions of men and women, young and old, who today choose to believe in peace, caring for the wounds and repairing the damage left behind by the madness of war. I received countless letters from children in areas of conflict and reading them, one perceives through the lens of innocence, all the horror and inhumanity of actions that some adults boast of with pride. Let us listen to the voices of children.
(15:58.873)
Dear brothers and sisters, there are certainly binding responsibilities that fall to leaders of nations. To them we cry stop. It’s time for peace. Sit at the table of dialogue and mediation, not at the table where rearmament is planned and deadly actions are decided. Yet there is no less significant responsibility that falls to all of us, men and women from all over the world. We are an immense multitude that rejects war, not only in word, but also in deed.
Prayer calls us to leave behind whatever violence remains in our hearts and minds. Let us turn to a kingdom of peace that is built up day by day in our homes, schools, neighborhoods, and civil and religious communities. A kingdom that counters polemies and resignation through friendship and a culture of encounter. Let us believe once again in love, moderation, and good politics. We must form ourselves and get personally involved. Each of the following, our own calling. Everyone has a place in the mosaic.
And then he goes on, he talks about the importance of the rosary and repetition. Yes, you know, like I said, constantly, you know, practicing, I’m not going to read the entire thing. I highly recommend you go and do it. I read a lot of it. His response to the president, this was before the president put out his tweet. He basically said the future belongs to men and women of peace. the end, justice will always triumph over injustice, just as violence.
despite all appearances will never have the last word. And he said, I think that the people who read, that made that very quiet, people who read, okay, go read what he said, not what Sean Hannity said. by the way, did see the diatribe that Hannity went after the Pope? Yeah, he actually, I don’t think the Pope’s read the Bible. This is coming from Sean Hannity, an abjunct moron. Anyway.
Think that the people who read will I’m sorry forgive me I shouldn’t I try not to do that I think that the people who read will be able to draw their own conclusions. I am NOT a politician I have no intention of entering into a debate with him rather. Let us always seek peace and put an end to wars I am NOT afraid of the Trump administration. I speak about the gospel. I am NOT a politician I don’t think the message of the gospel should be abused in the way some people are doing I will continue to speak out loudly against war
(18:20.803)
to try to promote peace, multilateral dialogue between states in order to seek the right solution to problems. The message of the church is the message of the gospel. Blessed are the peacemakers. I do not see my role as that of a politician. I do not want to enter a debate with him. Too many people are suffering in the world. That’s quite frankly, that’s checkmate right
(18:42.457)
Checkmate right there. Again.
What are you, honestly people are like, all right, are you talking about?
What I guess is you get those I’m sorry you get those pastors out there that that Actively promoting politics no
No, I wouldn’t want that. And out of any surgery that they’re supposed to be separate. Yeah, I was asked about that, you know, because certain I guess it’s OK in certain churches where they they talk up politicians. You know, I never I’m like, what? I’ve never heard that before. The only thing you want to draw in with politics that they’ve ever talked about when I was just which they don’t understand is, you know, when we had
There was it was an amendment on the Florida ballot when it came to abortion and yeah, you had the bishop talk about that That’s yeah, that’s rules Okay, not he’s not going out you never I never talk about promote never Never what what do you what’s the problem what he said?
(19:59.928)
Honestly, what what they say something bad there? I’m at a loss quite frankly people and again, it’s just
If we grab our sanity back as a country, as a people, I think it should be almost unanimous that what the president tweeted out was wrong on both occasions. And you know what? Apologize. Shouldn’t have said that. I’m sorry. Apologize. It’s like you should have apologized to all of those soldiers, families that you insulted from NATO when they’re
died, he told them they were useless in wars even though had people died. It’s okay, apologize, okay? But he won’t.
We won’t, it’s not what he does. And for, I don’t know, for some reason, people are attracted to that. That to me is, I don’t know, it’s just off. Anyway, Watchdog on wallstreet.com.
