Social Security Retirement Age Hike

Wow, this is actually maybe a little sign of hope here. Social Security retirement age hike. The largest caucus of House Republicans called for an increase in the Social Security retirement age, setting up a clash with President Joe Biden over spending on the Social Security. I’m curious to see. I haven’t heard yet. I haven’t heard where the Trumpster.
is gonna land on this either. Again, from what I’ve heard so far, he’s gonna be against it too. The Republican Study Committee, which comprises about 80 % of House Republicans called for the Social Security eligibility age to be tied to life expectancy. Again, this is a no -brainer.
It is a no -brainer. Social security was not designed, it wasn’t designed first and foremost to provide for your retirement. Okay, it wasn’t designed for that, let alone a two decade, possibly three decade retirement. How in the world is that sustainable? It’s not.
The last time we got any sort of real social security reform, they raised the age over time. That was back Ronald Reagan and Tip O ‘Neill. We’ve had quite a few medical advances since the early 1980s. And you take a look at the numbers and you can’t look at national mortality rates. You can’t do it because they’re a mess right now because of all of the young
people that are dying due to drug overdoses, you know, over a hundred thousand a year. But you take a look at the amount of people and you know, if you get, you get to 60, boy, real good chance you’re getting 70, 70 real good chance 80 and so on and so forth. And these are the numbers. Again, it’s common sense type of things that we need to put in place. I don’t understand the problem.

with it at all. It’s a step in the right direction. We should be doing other things to also shore up social security. You want to cut the cuts are coming. You get Biden and Trump saying they’re not going to cut social security. Yeah, guess what? They’re not going to cut it, but it’s going to cut itself automatically. Automatically, 10 years from now, it’s going to be cut by over 25%. That is
the reality. We told you this was the case in the 1990s. This is what is going to happen. So yeah, they may not cut it. They’re not gonna have to. It’s gonna cut itself anyway. So why not take some steps to shore this up? Watchdog on wallstreet .com.
