GOP Descends into Dysfunction… AGAIN.
(00:00.62)
We’ve got massive, massive GOP dysfunction right now. Wisconsin representative Mike Gallagher. Announced that he’s resigning from the House on April 19th, April 19th, which is nice because I think Congress is going on vacation again now for another couple of weeks. So he’ll be on vacation for another couple of weeks and then he’ll resign. Ken Buck resigned on.
Friday. Well, so what do we got now? GOP majority down 217 to 13. Okay. My thing is this, I get it. Okay. The Republican Party is a mess. And, you know, Mike Gallagher wants to spend more time with his family, yada, yada, yada. I mean, Ken Bach, all that stuff. Guys, listen, you can’t finish out.
Your term. You can’t finish out your term. People donated to your campaign. They gave you money. Your states ran elections. Now they’re going to have to run a special election which is going to cost the taxpayer money. You mean to tell me you can’t wait it out? You can’t wait it out until the end of December? It’s really that bad.
I mean, put that in perspective. I can’t get my arms around that. I mean, you commit to something. You commit to something. There has to be some sort of contract that you sign that you’re unless there’s some sort of major family issue or health issue. You’ve got to serve out your term, period, the end. If not, you know what? You got to give back the money that you made. And this is pathetic, quite frankly.
But anyway, neither here nor there. You got the Republican Party again, all upset now with Mike Johnson because on Friday the House voted 286 to 134 to fund the government. Now I got a kick out of this from the various different editorial pages, in particular, Wall Street Journal. Wall Street Journal does not like government shutdowns. And in this case, they said,
(02:26.414)
The House voted to do its basic job of funding the government.
We didn’t fund the blanking government. Okay. It’s akin to me saying, let’s pretend, we’ll play pretend for a second, that I’ve got credit card debt. I’ve got credit card debt and I pay off my credit card debt with another credit card. And then on that credit card, not only do I pay off my existing credit card debt, I add to it by buying more stuff.
That’s not funding the government. I know what you would call that, okay? I know what you would call that, but you’re not funding the damn government. Again, ah, yeah, we got the spending bill. We gotta get this done, because it’s gonna hurt the military. Again, here we go, the military. Anyway, anyway, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and by the way, she wasn’t one of the people that,
look to get rid of McCarthy. But now she’s calling on, we got to get rid of Mike Johnson. Oh, OK. All right. Go ahead. But obviously, you’ve got a political party that does not know how to govern, does not know how to win. It’s, quite frankly, it’s pathetic.
It really is at this point in time. And again, you think about all of the things that they’re going over right now. And I talk about how dysfunctional is and I’m sorry. I know you got a lot of big fans out there. Jim Jordan and James Comer and Hunter Biden. You do realize, okay, everyone, it’s going fricking nowhere.
(04:24.846)
That entire thing is going nowhere. Listen, you’ve already lost Fox. Fox is barely covering the damn thing anymore. And they love, they’ll take a story and they’ll run with it for years. Remember Greta Van Susteren down in Aruba?
No one is interested in this anymore. You lost Newsmax. Newsmax is actually one of the hosts there dogging Jim Jordan about the impeachment probe. This is going to go nowhere. Well, Jim, we have our responsibility as oversight role. You know what the best form of oversight is, Jim? James? You know what the best form of oversight is?
elections.
Elections. Is anybody out there shocked? There’s the old line from what Casablanca there, shocked, shocked that gambling is going on. We’re shocked. We’re shocked that politicians enrich themselves and trade on their name. I’m not.
I’m not shocked at all by this. And I said this from the get -go when they started this entire thing, and this is stupid. I said, you know, Joe Biden’s a piker. He’s small potatoes compared to the Clintons.
(05:57.806)
small potat – I mean look at some of the fortunes that have been amassed by members of Congress, yet we the people continue to vote them in again and again and again and again and again. It’s our own damn fault. And your stupid investigation that’s been going on, you could have highlighted it, you could have talked about it in the media, and then you could have used it to maybe replace some of these people.
and talk about that type of corruption. Take it to the American people. You could have gone out and played it different. You know what? We’re not gonna hold any hearings, okay? We’re not gonna hold any hearings. We’re gonna bring this information to the American people. We’re gonna trust the American people that they’re gonna vote these people out of office rather than the waste taxpayers’ money on these, again, these impeachment probes that go nowhere because that’s where they go.
going nowhere fast and tried something, tried to be somewhat intelligent, maybe play a little bit of 3D chess. But again, Republicans aren’t that smart. Again, they don’t even play chess, they don’t play checkers, they play candy land. They’re so damn stupid. We told you that this thing was going nowhere from the get go, yet they keep doing it.
I remember Trump. I’m gonna go back. I’m gonna go back to the, let’s go back to Trump versus Biden. Do you remember the debate that Trump lost to Biden and Trump’s big, big angle of attack was to go after his son? Do you think that resonated well with the American people? Do you ever think about like lifting yourself above and saying, you know what?
You know, we wish your son well with all of his problems and take a different tact. Because what you’re doing, yeah, you may rile up the Maga types that are going to vote for you anyway, but the whole idea in order to win elections is to bring more people over to your side. And you’re not doing that.
(08:14.99)
and your impeachment probe and all this other stuff. I know and Burisma and Ukraine and hand, oh my God, you mean to tell me, again, he’s shocked?
Are you shocked at all? These politicians are tied in and corrupt for crying out loud. Joe Biden was claiming to be a professor at the University of Pennsylvania. He actually got money, got millions of dollars to not teach a class. You shocked by this? I’m not.
I’m not surprised by, they know how this works. People, it was funny, it was actually the Democrats brought this up. Who was it? It was Jamie Raskin from Maryland, big lib, but does she got a point? Does she got a point? She brought up the idea she wanted to summon subpoena Jared Kushner, Trump member, Jared, Trump’s son -in -law.
because magically Jared Kushner got $2 billion from the Saudis right after he left, six months after he left the White House. He got $2 billion for his private equity company, Affinity Partners from the Saudis.
(09:30.958)
Where’d that come from? I don’t know. I don’t know. Again, you know, this question has been brought up before, you know, how, you know, where’d that money come? How’d that make, I don’t know. Again, Saudis will throw money at anything. I understand that. They got it coming out of a faucet every single day. But, you know, it got tabled because Republicans, you know, have the majority on the committee. But she’s got a point.
Does she not?
So again, you talk about Jordan in his interview on Newsmax, what did he say here exactly? He said, we got a responsibility. It’s a constitution, our job is under the constitution, is to do oversight of the executive branch. Oh man, you know what, Jim? You guys can’t balance a budget. You spend more than you’re taking in. We talked about this last week, your priorities. There’s no such thing. You should have one priority.
Again, if I was running the show, if I was Speaker of the House, I’d say, you know, I’m shutting down all committees. It’s it. It’s over. Done. Done. All committee work is over at this point in time. We’re not doing anything. All investigations shut down. Ending now. We’re all going to skip vacation and we’re going to figure out how to balance the budget.
Again, that’s really what’s important. You really think that this is that important to the American people when they’re taking a look at their household income and how far it’s going and the perpetual hamster wheel and what’s going on? I mean, Republicans should be winning in this race. It shouldn’t even be close at this point in time. The United States dropped out of the top 20. Top 20 happiest nations were 23rd.
(11:30.402)
in the world. And if you actually take a look at the internals for millennials in Generation Z, 62. 62, which would seem to me, again, it’d be a great opportunity reaching out to younger people. Because let me tell you something, the younger people that came out in droves for Biden are not happy with Bidenomics. They’re concerned the fact that they’re not going to.
do better than their parents, that they can’t afford a home, that they can’t afford to get by. No one gives a flying you know what about Hunter Biden, Jim, James.
You can vote this guy out of office. Okay. In a very short period of time, if you actually, I just had, you know, pull your, your, your heads out of your proverbial buttocks and use your brain, but no, no, no. Again, um, not very smart, not very smart. So now we’re gonna, we got to, we got got to, got to subpoena, Biden’s ghost rider and the records probe. Oh my God, please.
Do you think these Generation Zs, these Generation Xs give a crap about documents stored in the old man’s garage next to his vintage Corvette? Do you think it matters to them when they’re concerned about being able to afford a house, Jim, James? Oh, government, we can walk and chew gum at the same time. No, you can’t.
Now you’ve never proven that you can walk and chew gum at the same time. You know, meanwhile, let’s go to the Treasury market. Yeah. Again, all of this government spending that we talked about, Treasury market’s grown by more than 60 % to 27 trillion since the end of 2019, sixfold larger than it was prior to the 2008, 2009 financial crisis.
(13:38.2)
It’s a lot of debt that the markets have to absorb. A lot. Again, is that more important? Is that more important than all of this other stuff? I’m being honest here. I’m watching Republican. They’re going to lose. People are going to ask me right now, why not? Someone’s asking me right now, what do I think about this election? I think it’s…
No red wave. I don’t think at this point in time, do I think Donald Trump is going to win? No. No, again, a lot of things can happen from here to there. But I think if the election were held today, no, I think that the Republicans would lose the House, maybe, just maybe come close in the Senate and Biden would win reelection. I don’t care what the polls are telling you.
I don’t care what the polls are telling you. That’s my belief at this point in time. Why? Well, okay. Ask the elephant fools with the GOP dysfunction. Watchdog on wallstreet .com.
