Hillary Clinton Continues to Get Away With Murder
Rules are created for a reason, and people who break those rules are usually punished accordingly. So why is it the rules seem to not apply to certain people, especially those that deserve to face consequences?
We’ve seen this in the media spotlight for weeks with Hillary Clinton and her email scandal. Whether you’re a celebrity or an average Joe, if you do something illegal you should be punished accordingly.
I realized the true impact of this during a recent conversation with my son. We had been watching the coverage of the Clinton email scandal, and he could not understand why it was a big deal that she was not logging emails. I began to explain that as a leader of a wealth management firm, regulatory authorities require me to log all of my emails. I explained that the government works for us, the taxpayers, therefore, everything they produce belongs to us as well, including emails. I told him about the laws and guidelines I must comply to and soon he recognized what was going on.

After learning all this he was even more surprised that Clinton was NOT reprimanded for failing to log her emails and I could see his frustration building. He asked me how, after doing something illegal, she was not in jail. My only reasonable explanation? Because she’s a Clinton!
In today’s day and age, the rules are not applied the same way for everyone.
Recently a worker in Alabama was fired and denied unemployment after sending personal emails to his boss. This is what happens when you break the rules and regulations of your contract.
Clinton on the other hand has yet to face any repercussions for what she’s done, and now, won’t have her emails released until after this year. To top it all off, she also lied about it. She’s claimed from the beginning that she only used one private email address, but recent published emails exposed her for the liar that she truly is.
Clinton wants to take the spotlight off of her mind-blowing mistakes, and put it instead on her political campaign. In some ways this is working, distracting the absent-minded media with a shiny new toy to look at. However, American consumers must remember her as the real Hillary; a lying, conniving, and manipulative politician vying to be in charge of our country.
When the rules are enforced for one person, but not for another, justice is not being served. We all know this should not happen, and yet we see it far too often.
If someone is breaking a law, regardless of if they are a celebrity or government figure, they should be punished accordingly. This should happen especially when they are as guilty as Mrs. Clinton looks after scrubbing her server. You would never have to do like this if you were not trying to hide something. And yet, even once she has been caught, no punishment has been given because of her “status.”
They teach us from a young age that rules are there for a reason, and we learn early on what happens when we break those rules. However, this is not the case in real life and while we as adults realize this, it’s much harder for kids to understand. Children have a true understanding of justice, and they know what’s fair and what is not. When my 12-year-old son realizes that this is wrong and unfair, but the U.S. government does not, it’s time for changes to be made.
