BOTOX ON THE BRAIN
We have blasted the Supreme Court this past month on the radio over the Soviet-like decision in the case of Kelo v. New London. The decision now authorizes state and local governments to use eminent domain to seize private land for private use.
For example: Joe Bigshot wants to build a strip mall where you live. You do not want to move, so Joe Bigshot gives some money to local politicians and tells them how much more in tax revenue he is going to generate from his strip mall. Then the bottom-feeding, tax obsessed politicians seize your property and give it Joe Bigshot under the guise that it is the public’s best interest. Once again, if you have been living on a deserted island over the past two months, this is a true story! We would like to remind our listeners that there is no freedom here or anywhere without private property rights.
At a press conference this past month, a reporter asked House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (AKA Botox Brain) for her take on this case.
Q: Later this morning, many members of the House Republican leadership, along with John Cornyn from the Senate, are holding a news conference on eminent domain, and they are going to offer legislation that would restrict it, prohibiting federal funds from being used in such a manner. What is your reaction to the Supreme Court decision on this topic, and what do you think about legislation to, remedy or change it?
Botox Brain: As a member of Congress, we take an oath of office to uphold the Constitution. Central to that in that Constitution is the separation of powers. I believe that whatever you think about a particular decision of the Supreme Court, it is not appropriate for Congress to say we’re going to withhold funds for the court because we don’t like a decision.
“Withhold funds from the court”… Hey Nancy ease up on the botox, proposed legislation would have nothing to do with the electric bill at Ginsberg’s office. It would simply withhold funds from projects that take private land for private use. The reporter tried to explain this to Mrs. Botox and she still didn’t get it.
Botox Brain: “When you withhold funds from enforcing a decision of the Supreme Court you are in fact, nullifying a decision.”
Calm down there Mrs. B don’t get so excited, the Supreme Court said governments may use eminent domain, not that they must. Cornyn and Company are trying to put a stop to tax-loving spend thrifts like you from taking peoples homes. This case is one of the most important issues of today. Don’t be a botox brain pay attention, write your representative, and put a stop to this Commie land grab and tax scheme.
