Venezuela Reality Check: This Isn’t About Narco-Terror, It’s About Oil
(00:00.502)
Okay, time for a Venezuela reality check. First and foremost, okay? I want you to, I want you to take a breathe in, breathe out. And I want you all to think, do you really, do you really believe that this is about narco trafficking?
Come on, Come on, please. It’s absolutely ridiculous. Do I think it’s on? Do I think that there’s going to be strikes ordered? More than likely. And it’s by the book, it’s by the playbook. Every single time. Every single time the president of United States wants to engage in a conflict and it doesn’t matter. Doesn’t matter if it’s a donkey, it doesn’t matter if it’s an elephant.
the media gets behind it. The media gets behind it. Initially, some of, mean, as it goes along, they’ll fall off, but right off the bat, they all get behind it. Name one time. Name one time they haven’t. Can’t. Okay, does it matter if Clinton’s deciding to, you know, bomb Iraq?
because of a threat to George HW Bush or decide to get involved in the Baltics. it doesn’t make any difference or Obama getting involved with Hillary Clinton in Libya. make any difference every single time.
The media gets involved and it’s the New York Times, Washington Post and it’s the Wall Street Journal, I guess. Are there any other conservative papers here in this country? Not really. But anyway, and they’re not even really conservative. They all get behind it. And what you’re going to see, just like you’re seeing now, just start reading the stories. They’re going to try to link Maduro and I’m not a Maduro fan. OK, how could you be a Maduro fan? I’m a Chavez and Maduro. No.
(02:14.944)
Okay. every conceivable evil in the world is going to be somehow, somehow connected to Maduro. What was the story? It was, it was in the wall street journal. All Maduro has given drugs to jihadis and they’re taking the drugs. This is cocaine. They’re taking them to West Africa and, West Africa is then sending it to Europe.
You’re going to find out that Maduro, oh, he’s somehow linked to ISIS. You’re going to go, it’s not going be just Hezbollah. They’ve already said, oh, I he’s got a lot to do with fentanyl, which is nonsensical. Oh, he’s got some nefarious ties to China. You know what? Push comes to shove. You’re going to eventually find out that Saddam Hussein hit his weapons of mass destruction in Venezuela. Do you do really?
believe this.
Okay.
Tell me, tell me that we need the oil and it’s a geopolitical concern, we’re worried about Russia. Tell me, just stop BSing me, okay? Stop. Anyway, I’m gonna go through this with everybody, okay? Venezuela,
(03:52.91)
has the largest oil reserves in the world. The largest oil reserves in the world estimated at 304 million barrels. Saudi Arabia is next with 267 million barrels. Iran, 209 million barrels. Canada, 170 million barrels. Then comes Iraq. 145 million barrels, the UAE 113 million, Kuwait 102 million, Russia 80 million, and then there we are at 74 million, Libya has 50 million. So Venezuela has most. Now the interesting thing about Venezuelan oil is that is a heavy, heavy crude. It’s like a tar. It’s like a tar.
was in Venezuela decades ago. And you you get those little tarballs that would wash up on the beaches there. And one of the places that can actually refine the stuff, we know how to refine it. We know how to refine it. It’s a little bit more difficult of a process, but 304 million barrels. And you’re telling me this is about narco trafficking?
You believe that? That’s what they’re selling you.
That’s what you’re saying, but this is about oil.
(05:30.446)
Pure and simple, this is about oil. Just like the whole first Iraq invasion was about, the whole thing has always been about oil and resources.
The reason why we installed the Shah of Iran in Iran was because British Petroleum was pissed off at the democratically elected leader. And we had to get rid of him because it was going to go against British oil interests at that point in time. OK, so we can keep telling ourselves that we’re so squeaky clean and star spangled awesome.
But this is business.
Okay? They may be selling it to you as some sort of narco bit, but you believe that?
This is some of the this is some of I got this is this is a tweet put out by Senate Republicans, Senate Republicans by the Senate Republican Conference, which is of course led by one of the the latest latest neocons out there. Tom Cotton, Tom Cotton, Nicholas Maduro is an illegitimate leader responsible for encouraging drug operations in South America.
(06:59.554)
Those drugs kill more Americans every year than the number of American soldiers lost in Vietnam. As long as Maduro is in power, American communities will suffer. All due respect, that is bullshit. The drugs that are killing Americans are not coming from Colombia, they’re not coming from Venezuela, they’re not coming from Bolivia, they’re coming from freaking Mexico with precursors sold to them
by China.
Okay? That’s cocaine, man.
Now don’t know how many cocaine overdoses we had, unless I’m sure there were some. But it ain’t fentanyl. Okay? It’s not.
So stop, stop with the BS. And here’s Lindsey Graham.
(07:55.682)
Lindsey Graham. Again, we just talked about Minnesota. Lindsey Graham was the one that actually pushed for the Somalis to come here and also pushed for the Afghanis to come. Anyway, another story for another day. Lindsey Graham has never met a war he hasn’t liked. Without a credible threat of the use of military force, nothing changes in Venezuela. When it comes to Maduro, the time for talking is closing. The time for action to end this reign of terror in Venezuela is upon us.
I would urge the Holy Father because the Pope came out and said that he doesn’t wish for any violence to take place. Yeah, that’s a real horrible or odd thing to say from the Pope, really? I mean, come on. What do you think the Pope is gonna say? Bomb him, use drones, start shooting?
I would urge the Holy Father, this is Lindsey Graham, to be on the right side of history when it comes to ending Maduro’s reign of terror on the Venezuelan people, the United States, and others throughout the region. The use of military force to evict Maduro will only be required if Maduro insists on remaining as the illegitimate leader of a narco-terrorist state. He has stolen elections, collaborates with terrorist groups like Hezbollah, sits atop a notorious drug cartel,
and has flooded our country with hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens. As Trump said, when it comes to Maduro, we can do it the easy way or the hard way. I would urge the Holy Father to spend his time and energy persuading Maduro to take the easy way out for all.
(09:37.454)
I’ve gotten, yeah, I got an email or two. Well, know, we’re not gonna put boots on the ground. I don’t see Trump putting boots on the ground. I don’t see that happening.
(09:50.2)
So we’re just gonna start shooting drones. Okay. Okay. Well, like I said, I was in Venezuela prior to Chavez and the socialists taking over. can’t imagine what their infrastructure is like at this point in time. I would also tend to imagine that the Venezuelan military is probably
probably in and amongst the civilian population.
Correct me if I’m wrong. That’s probably where they’re gonna be. Drone strikes. Because again, we never really told, okay drone strike took out this one, drone strike took out that one. And again, if you don’t have to trust my numbers, you can look these things up yourself. The two presidents who have authorized the most drone strikes has been.
Barack Obama, between 2009 and 2017, and don’t have numbers for Donald Trump for this year, but Trump, between 2017 and 2021 actually ordered more drone strikes than Obama did. Obama, again, the numbers,
anywhere between 540, 563 drone strikes between Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia, anywhere between 1,825, 100, including wars. Again, I’m looking at the civilian death tolls right now, estimated.
(11:44.974)
56.
5600 under Trump, 7500 civilian death toll. Those are the estimates. I don’t know if they’re right or not. But to think that something like this, if we start ordering strikes, is going to be squeaky clean and we’re not going to be killing people. You’ve got another thing coming. You don’t actually believe that, do you? I’ve read this before here.
on the program. think I read this when I was talking about my desire for Tulsi Gabbard to run for president, which she did, but again, she got boxed out and I don’t even know where she’s at at this point in time. I really don’t know. I really don’t know where Tulsi, they probably got Tulsi Gabbard. I haven’t seen her. She might be at a CIA black site at this point in time. This is John Quincy Adams. America does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy.
She is the well-wisher to freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own. America knows that by once enlisting under other banners than her own, were they even the banners of foreign independence, she would involve herself beyond the power of extrication and all the wars of interest and intrigue of individual avarice, envy and ambition, which assume the colors and usurp the standard of freedom.
the fundamental maxims of her policy would insensibly change from liberty to force. She might become the Dictatress of the world.
(13:32.77)
John Quincy Adams, not wrong, this is what we are, okay? The dictators of the world. She would no longer.
no longer the ruler of her own spirit.
Something think about. Something to think about it. Said it a couple days ago here on the podcast, all the rah rah types out there. Ask yourself this question. Did you, did you or did you not vote for Trump as part of his platform, like I did, to keep us out of foreign wars?
Yes Yes or no?
And you’re telling me though that this is a necessity? Venezuela is a national security threat to the United States. Kind of like Iraq and Afghanistan and Libya. I can go on and on and on. You honestly believe that.
