Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen Needs a Vocabulary Lesson
(00:00.39)
Well, our poor Treasury Secretary of the United States, Janet Yellen, bless her heart. She needs a vocabulary lesson. She does. She doesn’t know what the word afford means. It goes right to the dictionary. Well, the number one definition is to have enough money to pay for. Hmm. The best that I could afford was a first room floor.
Well, Janet Yellen, Janet Yellen was out and about there doing interviews this past weekend and said the United States can certainly afford military support to both Israel and Ukraine. Really? I looked into this, you know, we’ve talked about this. We are $33 trillion in debt.
We’ve already discussed how our interest payments are gonna be getting dangerously close to a trillion dollars sooner rather than later. We have unfunded liabilities that they don’t even put on the books when it comes to Medicare and Social Security. That’s gonna be cut 10 years down the road. We’re running about what? 1.7 trillion dollar deficit for this year alone. Yep.
Janet Yell, Treasury Secretary of the United States. It’s a position where, you know, you think you’d have to understand what the word afford means, but obviously is lacking. I thought about it. Great skit. Great skit. I’ll probably play it this weekend on the radio show. Saturday Live. This is like mid 2000s. It was Amy Poehler and Steve Martin did a skit on, well, basically a book and a method.
for getting out of debt. And the name of the book was Don’t Buy Stuff You Can’t Afford. First page, if you don’t have any money, you should not buy anything.

Makes sense. I mean, nice if our Treasury Secretary could understand that. Watchdog on wallstreet.com.
