The Watchdog on Wallstreet Weekly Recap for 2/6/23
Biden Caught Lying…. Again
It’s amazing. You take a look at this country and what we’ve accomplished. Putting people on the moon. The type of growth that we’ve seen in terms of quality of life. There are just so many things. You can’t even keep track of them. But, again, if you think about it and consider the level of government incompetence, it truly boggles the mind. Speaking of incompetence and deception. You have the president of the United States declaring that he has reduced the deficit by $1.7 trillion. You got the CBO, dude. According to the CBO, the deficit increased from 259 billion to 522 billion. That is not subtraction. That’s an addition, Joe. The scary thing is that interest rates are much higher, and people were paying 41% in interest this year.
The Left Attacks Youth Sports
The Democrats in New York want to ban kids from playing tackle football. I’m not making this up. This is not from Babylon B. Yes, they want to prohibit children aged 12 and under from playing football. It’s probably the safest time in their lives for them to play football. For crying out loud, we used to play tackle football in the backyard without any pants on at that age. You’re also going to send the cops over to put a stop to those games?
When Countries can’t Innovate, they Regulate
After the events of the last few years, all companies looking to merge, particularly those in the technology sector, will see an increase in consolidation attempts. And you’ll see acquisitions of companies that have some great ideas but poor business models. There will be pushback on these acquisitions not just with Lina Khan who we all know is cuckoo for cocoa puffs over at the FTC. On the expected culprits over in Europe because it’s how it works. We recently received some pushback. The United Kingdom is opposing the Microsoft Activision deal. What are they doing in the United Kingdom? I’m not sure – perhaps Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, or Range Rover? What else is there? If you can’t innovate, regulate, I guess.
How do you make money in streaming
They still haven’t figured out how to make money. Again, it’s amazing that all these Wizards in Hollywood think they know everything. You have no idea! You should have seen all of this coming a mile away. I’m referring to Disney and their numbers, which include laying off 7000 employees, many of whom work in content, as well as cutting $5 billion in content spending. Maybe they’re starting to get it where they’re not cutting back is in sports programming where again you can run commercials. How about that? You have to pay for the service somewhere or another. I know you like getting your fees every month for these things, but when you’re spending a fortune on garbage. Seriously, what do you think will happen with the type of program you’re putting out?
Joe Biden: Fossil Fuels to be done with in 10 years
No, I don’t watch the State of the Union. Do I go through and read everything that has been published? I do, indeed. It’s much easier for me to skim through the BS than it is to sit and listen to it. But, if you want to go the extra mile, the president claims that we’ll be done with fossil fuels in ten years. Okay, there’s this country. It is a great distance away. There are approximately 1.4 billion people there. It’s called India. And their President Modi, you may have heard of him, recently stated that their natural gas demand will increase by 500% over the next few years. His oil demand will rise at roughly the same rate.
State of the Union is a Dog and Pony show
So the question this morning was, ” Chris?” What were your thoughts? What did you think of the union? Did you watch it? I don’t watch the State of the Union. No, I stopped a long time ago because I wised up and realized, and you might as well, that it is a stupid dog and pony show. Regardless of who is in office, the State of the Union address is a collection of either really really bad or dead on arrival ideas put forth by presents. Again, it’s all about the show and what we can discuss on television. Everything is nonsense. It’s a collective waste of our time. The things that were put out there, the things that were said, again, it insults my intelligence.
SNL vs NORAD: The Chinese Balloon
You know what’s funny? Is that Saturday Night Live provided a better explanation for why we couldn’t track a Chinese spy balloon over the United States. They joked that our defense systems, which they referred to as the Seattle Space Needle, had been missed. Again, this is more plausible than the nonsense you’re receiving from our military and NORAD’s top minds. so they understand this clearly. You can contact Santa Claus on Christmas Eve and show his flight, but you can’t spot a Chinese spy balloon? Really? That’s great. I am ecstatic about all of you, my fellow taxpayers. Are you pleased with how your nearly trillion dollars in annual tax dollars are spent on the military?
Health is wealth: The Future of American Healthcare
For the past decade, we’ve covered health care in the United States in our podcasts, radio shows, and “money minutes. We’ve always thought of it as part of people’s overall financial planning. We want to live longer and healthier lives, but there are obviously costs associated with that. And we’ve seen this before as mission creep. When Obamacare was passed, the Democrats had completed their mission. When it comes to health care, we certainly have this left-of-center socialist mission creep. The Wall Street Journal published an article about what’s going on in the United Kingdom. They wanted the NHS and how God forsaken awful and underfunded it is. Including having the worst wait times; if you have a heart attack and call for an ambulance, you will have to wait for an hour and a half.
Mining in America: A Bittersweet Necessity
So I was watching this interesting interview on “Mornings with Maria” where a gentleman was talking about how the Biden administration is not allowing mining in certain areas in the United States, in this case a forest in the northern part of Minnesota. I’m here to tell you that I understand. I wouldn’t want to live near a mine if I lived out there; that’s the reality of the situation, especially given some of the ways things are mined. Cobalt, nickel, and copper are all things that we require for all of our electronic devices and, of course, all of our green dreams. It reminded me of the South Park underwear gnomes, who had a business plan of collect underpants #2? 3 profit. We want to do all this EV stuff, but we don’t know where the materials are going to come from.
