Tariffs Are Taxes

Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessette held his own in front of Congress and they were peppering him with questions, guards, economic policy and tariffs except one. One question where he had nowhere to go. He was asked, I forget the name of the Congressman about who pays tariffs. And he tried.
He’s a smart guy. He tried to change the subject. Tried to talk around it as best he possibly could. The representatives tried to reclaim his time because Scott kept saying, Well, who pays tariffs? You do. I do. For years, I’ve tried very, very hard.
very, very hard to get this across to the left because they love jumping up and down and saying, hey, you know, we really need to do is we need to raise corporate taxes. God, terrible corporations, corporations not paying taxes. Corporations got to pay their fair share. Yeah. What we try to teach here is that a corporation is a tax ID number and a logo. That’s it.
corporation can’t steal money, corporation can’t make money, corporation is a tax ID number and a logo. It’s the same reason why I get upset when they start finding corporations for the malfeasance of people that actually work for the company. They’re the ones that are responsible. derive their money from the goods and services that they provide, that they sell to you and I.
So the taxes that any corporation has to pay is obviously priced in to the goods and services that they provide. It’s just that simple. Tariffs the same thing. Company is going to get hit with tariffs. The money has to come from somewhere. Where is that somewhere? You, me, we pay. Watchdogonwallstreet.com.
