Strait of Hormuz Gamble: Trump Eyes Exit as Allies Push Back
(00:00.568)
Good news, bad news, all in between and actually a little bit of hope on concluding this Iran war. So the president has told aides, this is a Wall Street Journal report that he is willing to end the US military campaign against Iran even if the Strait of Hormuz remains largely close. Again, what does this mean? What does this mean? Some are saying that Iran will have an even firmer grip on the waterway, and it’s going to be really interesting and what’s going to happen and how they’re going to open it. Is it going to turn into a tollbooth? According to the Wall Street Journal, in recent days, Trump and his aides assessed that a mission to pry open the choke point
would push the conflict beyond his timeline of four to six weeks. He decided that the US should achieve its main goals of hobbling Iran’s Navy and its missile stocks and wind down current hostilities while pressuring Tehran diplomatically to resume the free flow of trade. If that fails, Washington would press allies in Europe and the Gulf to take the lead on reopening the strait. Okay, and I’m gonna…
Again, this is going to tick off a lot of the the magas out there we’re going to go through what has transpired just over the past. Well, it’s been over 24 hours, but there’s some late later developments over the past 24 hours with our allies in NATO. First and foremost, the Trump Trump tweeted out the country of France wouldn’t let planes headed to Israel loaded up with military supplies fly over French territory.
France has been, all caps, very unhelpful with respect to the butcher of Iran who has been successfully eliminated. The USA will remember. Across the board here, this is actually showing up in European papers, actually the UK mail, how Europe has turned its back on Trump. Italy has told us to, in essence, basically pound sand. Poland.
(02:25.654)
as well. Italy barred an American bomber flying to the Middle East from landing at one of its bases. We already talked about Spain restricting its airspace for US warplanes. We asked Poland to send their Patriot air defense battery to the Middle East to the region. And they said, No, no, we’re not gonna do that. That’s here to protect us and NATO’s Eastern flank. Okay.
lot of the Maga types out there. You know, Patrezas and Nito and they’re not our allies.
(03:07.662)
You do understand what NATO is, right? It’s a defense agreement. It’s a defense agreement. And if there is attack on one, there’s an attack on all. To everybody out there that is outraged by this, anybody get attacked?
Did Iran attack anybody? No, no, they didn’t. Even if you wanted to go in, do you think maybe we should have consulted with these allies first saying, hey, this is something that we think is an issue, this is going to be a problem? mean, at least we did that in the Iraq War and
You know, they had the opportunity to say, now, we don’t think that’s a great idea. No. And some decided part of the coalition of the willing, some decided to throw themselves and get involved in that nonsense. But we didn’t even ask.
We didn’t even ask. And again, for all of you people out there that think that the world should just do whatever we tell them they should do. Why don’t you put yourself in their position right now. We already talked about the price of natural gas in Europe. You’re already seeing it here. Gasoline in the United States is over $4. You know what it’s gonna be in Europe? You know what diesel is gonna be in Europe? You know what this is gonna do?
to their economies, that’s where they get most of their energy from and you just cut it off. I mean, we just cut it off.
(04:56.046)
And you think they’re going to be thrilled by that you think they’re going to be you know, they’re going to love that. Even Germany, the right of center conservative movement in Germany that we were applauding not too long ago, the Magus were applauding is basically saying that this is nonsense. And now they’re considering the shut us bases and send all of our troops 50,000 of them home.
This this was the one. These are the one day. Remember, JD Vance was going off on a rant when he was in Europe talking about this and problems in Germany and not allowing free speech and all that stuff. Yeah, that’s that party. Okay. This thing that they’re talking about right now, and I’m sorry, there’s a lot of say low IQ, low information people out there that somehow think that the straight of or moves
was closed prior to our invasion. It wasn’t. It was open. Ships went back and forth. No problem. No problem. All good. OK, so we start a war. The strait closes outside of the ships that they want to go through. The global economy right now is it’s a mess.
And this is one of the things that I don’t think people fully understand. If this doesn’t get handled quickly, we are going to see, it’s not if, okay, we’re going to see $175 to $200 a barrel, that’s just what is going to happen, okay? You cannot take that amount of supply offline.
and expect there to be repercussions. It’s going to happen unless this comes to an end. So could be me calling me crazy, okay? Our, strategic, that word, should make fun of George W. Bush on Saturday Night Live, Will Ferrell. Strategic, made up word. Anyway, our, our strategic on this wasn’t, wasn’t too swift. Okay?
(07:22.752)
It didn’t end quickly. It didn’t end quickly. And this is this is disaster. So again, the president put this out. And again, you unfortunately, low information people.
because flights are being canceled. can’t jet fuel is being cut off. think Lufthansa is canceling 20. I mean, it’s just it’s gonna it’s gonna continue to spiral. So Trump puts this out. He says all of those countries that can’t get jet fuel because of the straight up or moves like the United Kingdom, which refuse to get involved in the decapitation of Iran. I have a suggestion for you. Number one, buy from the US. We have plenty.
No, we don’t. And number two, build up some delayed courage, go to the straight and just take it. You’ll have to start learning how to fight for yourself. The USA won’t be there to help you anymore. Just like you weren’t there for us. Iran has been essentially decimated. The hard part is done. Go get your own oil. President DJT.
(08:34.926)
They didn’t have.
any problems. There wasn’t any issue until…
They wrecked it.
(08:52.514)
They wrecked it or do we wreck it? How does this work? I mean, I don’t understand. We came in again and we broke it. We broke it.
And now they have to go and deal with this. And I don’t know how Iran is going to react. I really don’t. I don’t know if, you know, if they’re going to start charging tolls to get through. don’t know. I’m sure European nations are, you know, having conversations, conversations with Iran. You want to know why?
again, you can just look at markets. Do you know that Iran’s currency is up since this started? Its oil exports have also surged. Now again, you want to get your arms around that. Okay, first of all, their currency has appreciated by 6 % since the war started. Their inflation is down from over 80 % to 67%.
you know, that’s also because of supply shocks, not having them, there’s going to be issues there and people not spending any money, I get that. But Iran is also exporting a hell of a lot more oil than they were prior to the war. And they’re getting full price for their oil because there’s no more sanctions on that oil.
So again, we went in, we did this. We basically screwed the global economy. We did, we did. And Trump wants a pat on the back, wants a pat on the back, and now he wants Europe to go clean up our mess.
(10:59.598)
Again, am I wrong here?
Am I wrong? And I’m sorry. Okay. Yeah, you get a lot of a lot of the same neocon warmongers all over TV to are ballistic missiles that could reach the United States. Yeah, they shot two missiles at Diego Garcia, one fell into the water. The other one got shot down. What would be there? What? Why?
Why why would they shoot anything? At the united states, what would be the end game there? I’m just throwing it out there. Well, what and we couldn’t shoot it out of the sky
(11:50.242)
You know, again, I’m gonna go back to the whole mutual assured destruction. Nobody will F with us. We F with people. Nobody. We’ve got an ocean here, an ocean air, enough nuclear weapons to take out the entire world.
(12:13.71)
And we’re doing this.
(12:24.846)
I really can’t get your arms around it. really can. You know, get guys, you know, the usuals. Mike Pompeo. Yeah. Remember him, the CIA director that wanted to assassinate Julian Assange? Yeah, he did. There are many pundits are pontificating about when the war with Iran will end. But the answer is relatively simple. This ends when the Iranians can no longer hold the world hostage anymore. When the flip was Iran holding the world hostage.
When? Who? Was anybody held hostage at all? Anyone? No.
Hope, okay? This is some of the good news, okay? And you know, I’m being honest here. I’m happy. I’m happy Europe is telling us to pound sand. Good for them.
(13:25.486)
Good for them. I am happy that they’re telling us to take a long walk off a short pier. it’s so un-American. No, it’s very American, quite frankly. Okay, I am so American that I can actually admit when my country is wrong and doing the wrong thing. That’s a very American thing to do. The least American thing you can do is like, can do whatever Trump has.
Every war you got to support. Support the troops. Support the troops. do we got? Yeah, you want to support the troops? got 14 veterans committing suicide every single day. Why don’t we do something about that, quite frankly, rather than spending billions of dollars a freaking day on another damn war. 14 a day committing suicide. Support the troops. Shut the hell up.
Anyway, this could be, this is hope. Okay, this could be an off ramp. Okay, this will allow, because this is important, okay, call it what it is. This will, Trump needs to do his little, and again, this is from the MAGA perspective and the influencer perspective, just declare victory, move on.
Move on. We don’t invade Iran. Okay. Again, let we pull out and then if there’s a supply chain crisis, he can point the finger at Iran and he just lets everybody else work it out. Work it out and he can say, hey, I did my, I kept Iran from getting a nuke and there’s no endless war in the Middle East. can declare victory on both of those.
fronts. That’s that is the off ramp for us at this point in time. There was no way there’s no way that bombing this country was going to have any sort of regime change where all of a sudden it was you know, again, they were going to have some sort of republic.
(15:44.49)
Step up. I know you get that. What’s his name there on TV? X royalty. I’ll step in. I’m sure you will. I’m sure you will. Once once we declare victory, once we go home, there will be pressure on Iran to open up the straight. They may. Push for their pound of flesh looking to rebuild, but.
We got ourselves into a situation. Got ourselves into a situation. They miscalculated. Sorry. They did. They thought this would have been over by now. And we’re getting to a point in time where Americans are pissed. They are. Prices are gonna go up and unless this thing ends, I’m here to tell you it’s going to get much
much worse. So the hope is, saw that with the statement today, an off ramp. Take it!
Take it. Take it. You can do your little Trump dance, declare victory. Maybe you can borrow George W. Bush’s mission accomplished banner and get the hell out. Watchdog on wallstreet.com.
