State of the Union Spectacle & Rising Iran Tensions: Are We Repeating History?
(00:00.622)
Iran and the State of the Union. Not going to be watching the State of the Union this evening. A couple of reasons. First and foremost, starts at nine o’clock. Yeah, my bedtime is between eight and eight thirty. That’s you know, I’m an old guy. And not to mention the fact I can’t stand State of the Unions. I really can’t. I haven’t for some time. The amount of horrible ideas that have been floated during State of the Unions and it has
It’s turned into almost like a professional wrestling event. Really has on both sides. I remember during the whole me too thing and everybody’s wearing what Democrats are wearing white and Nancy Pelosi ripping up speeches and all this other nonsense. actually Bill Maher actually put this out was kind of funny. He said since the State of the Union address is next Tuesday, let’s get rid of the State of Union dress before Tuesday.
Nothing has misled the American people to the warped belief that the president can act like a king more than this stupid, boring, performative after-dinner speech from hell. Where the sergeant at arms announces the president like he’s a king and he walks into the room like Conor McGregor heading into the octagon with members of Congress lining the aisle like medieval peasants hoping to touch the royal garments.
pretty funny, but pretty accurate. Pretty accurate. I you know, I’ll have to get up a little bit earlier tomorrow and yeah, I will go through the speech. I’ll watch it in double time. Because again, I get the president has already promised that it’s going to be super long. Super long, know, two plus hours. I don’t know. I don’t know. Not not interested. Curious to see.
very curious to see what’s going to transpire when it comes to foreign policy when it comes to Iran. Reason being is, you know, the Lindsey Grahams, the Ted Cruz’s of the world, the rah rah, we got to bomb them, nuke them, whatever, you know, for Israel, whatever it may be that they’re behind at this point in time, they have taken to the airwaves, taken to the airwaves talking about just, you know, how we need to do this and how we got to support the Iranian people and all sorts of good stuff and

Again, I feel like it’s frickin’ Groundhog Day all over again. I’ve seen this movie before. I know how it ends. Knowin’ how it ends. Remember George W. Bush talkin’ about this and America’s gotta be liberators and doing all of these things? How the hell did that frickin’ work out? Huh?
Anyway, I saw something this weekend caught my attention that Steve Whitcoff there, Trump’s Trump’s little envoy to here, there and everywhere actually said, and I quote, and I quote this Sunday, they’re probably a week away from having industrial grade bomb making material.
If I had a dollar for every single time I was told you were told that Iran is one week away from having a nuke.
(03:20.962)
for decades.
Decades we’ve been told that Iran is one week away from having a new. Now I wanna, we’re gonna go rewind. We’re gonna go rewind here. This is July 19th. Donald J. Trump. Donald J. Trump and again, Ted Cruz this morning. right, Donald Trump’s leadership and bombing Iran. was the greatest thing ever. This is Donald J. Trump, July 19th.
all three nuclear sites in Iran were completely destroyed and or obliterated. It will take years to bring them back into service. Fast forward. Yeah, Steve Witkoff this weekend. They’re probably a week away from having industrial grade bomb making material. Again,
Administration’s not stupid. They know that few and far between are gonna actually pay attention to this stuff. I happen to be one of them. Most people don’t care. We can rah rah people up. We can get the people going. We’ve done it a million times. We can get mad at the French for not wanting to go in Iraq and, take them, no more French fries on the congressional menu. They’re freedom fries now.

You know how ridiculous we sound sometimes? You know how dumb we sound? Ah, yes, well, you do have. You you got some that are voicing their concerns. General Dan Kane, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff within Defense Department, basically raising concerns about an extended military campaign against Iran.
advising that war plans being considered carry risks including US and allied casualties depleted air defenses and an overtaxed force.
(05:21.752)
We’re being told, know, initial limited strikes, days long aerial campaign aimed at toppling the regime. All of this obviously carries all sorts of risks. Again, costs involved, munitions, stockpiles, all sorts of stuff. None of this stuff is free.
None of this stuff is free again. We’re, know, again, I don’t even know what the number is, 38, 39 trillion. Who knows at this point time, as far as our debt is concerned. Other columns as well talking about, okay, you knock off the regime there in Iran, then what?
You do remember what happened with ISIS and all that stuff where that just trip. Look at that power vacuum. Oh, boy. Look what we got here. I remember Obama calling in the JV team as they wreak havoc all across the Middle East. And they’re still causing all sorts of issues. There’s a colon power. I remember him talking.
about this, is good to quote, what was called the pottery barn scenarios kind like you break it you bought it.
We break this, we bought this too?
(06:53.56)
We bought this too? With what money? I don’t know. Maybe we’ll pay for reconstruction with Melania coin or the Trump coin or maybe something else that Eric and Donald Trump Jr. cook up in their crypto schemes. Where’s the money coming from kids? you think Israel is gonna pay to rebuild this? Right, sure.
