Shutdown Drama Is Pathetic and Sad
(00:00.354)
The words that came to mind to describe these weekends shut down drama actually come from John Bender from the Breakfast Club, pathetic and sad. Yeah, that’s basic what we’re dealing with right now. Not exactly a proud day for American citizens to watch our fearless leaders in Washington DC acting like idiots, pulling fire alarms and juvenile crap.
And the funny, the excuses they came up with was that was Jamaal boy, the guy who pulled the fire alarm. He was a principal for crying out loud. He claimed he didn’t know that he was pulling a fire alarm. I mean, come on, people anyway. So dramatic day. Yes. Drama. Drama on Capitol Hill. Yes, they got funding. Government didn’t shut down. All’s well. Right. So they extended it to what? Mid.
November, what is it? November 17th. So the House voted 335 to 91. Senate voted 88 to nine. To keep the party going. Keep the party going, keep the spending going. We need more time. How much fricking time do you need? I mean, maybe if members of Congress weren’t spending all day raising money.
on phone with your various different donors and actually doing your freaking job. Yeah, again, it was up to me. Sergeant at arms, they should lock them in. They should lock them in. No, you can do, you can order up, that guy that’s always trying to.
sell people telling everybody the world’s gonna end his patriot supply. Buy a whole bunch of the patriot supply things from that guy and give it to them and you know no fancy food, no buffets, no catering, patriot supply food and then they got all stay in there. Give them sleeping bags, give them sleeping bags and you don’t come out until something is done. None of this extension nonsense but anyway again I’m living in the neighborhood of make-believe right now.

Yeah, so the measure includes 16 billion in disaster relief. There is no assistance for Ukraine. It also didn’t include any border security measures that Republicans wanted. Again, I mentioned here on the program, to me, stop sending money. Stop sending money to the border. You have to change the policies first. The policies need to change. You can just keep sending money.
Difference, of course, they renew the flood insurance program, which I have blasted over the years here on the program, something that desperately needs to be reformed. I don’t understand why in God’s creation I should be subsidizing someone’s home insurance and they live on the Gulf of Mexico. I mean, it’s nice to live on the Gulf of Mexico. It is. It’s nice to live on the water. It really is. And if you can afford to do that, fine.
But part of being able to afford to do that is you got to pay for your own damn insurance. Okay. Pay for your own insurance. And again, this inflates the price of these homes on the water. You know, correct me if I’m wrong, there’s risk involved with living on the water. And if you don’t want to pay for the risks of living on the water, move inland. Okay. I live mighty close to
up on a hill. Okay. I’m not going to worry about any sort of, you know, hurricane, no, not going to bother me up here outside of losing power. But anyway, not neither, neither here nor there. Again, also reauthorized as a federal aviation administration through the end of December. Okay. Again, spending remains the same. No cuts. No, no cuts remains the same. Democrats are thrilled with this.
They’re thrilled they got what they wanted. They’re gonna continue to spend and spend and spend on domestic programs. No changes, no improvements, no nothings. Again, they are, there’s many, both the House and the Senate, both Republican, Democrat are none too happy. They want more money for the Ukraine. And what I think is gonna happen is they’re gonna try to sneak something in and they’ll work it through. They’ll work it through. Again, you know, you got…

You know, the war parties, the war unit party, they love all this stuff. And, you know, they’ll try to, you’ll get some funding bill for Ukraine on a Friday. On a Friday, maybe, I mean, I guess I wouldn’t be surprised with this Friday. I got, you know, we got Columbus Day weekend. People might not be paying attention. You know, they notice they’re always like shoving stuff down our throats and we don’t think we’re paying attention. They always do it also right before, right before Thanksgiving.
as well. It’s another good spot where they shove things down our throats. But anyway, yeah, this is the best we got. Pathetic and say we got a whole lot of nothing. All of this drama, all of this conversation for how long, for what? What was achieved? Oh, we kept the government open changing your life at all? Nah, I didn’t think so. Watchdog on wallstreet.com.
