Russia and Sanction Futility
(00:00.482)
So China got a great deal. I got a great deal here. Talk about savings. Yes, 10 billion. China saved $10 billion by buying cheap oil from countries that have been sanctioned. That’s just China. So you’ve got Russia, you’ve got Iran, and you’ve got Venezuela all have sanctions on them when it comes to oil. Certain countries just don’t give a damn.
They’re not, and they’re not the only one. China basically scooping up Russian oil supplies. India as well, South Africa. Again, this is the overall futility on sanctions on commodities that countries need and want. They’re gonna buy them, they’re gonna get them. It ends up being a big waste, quite frankly. And that’s where we’re at in this.
situation. 25% of overall Chinese crude oil purchases first nine months of 2023 were coming from Russia. Again, is anybody surprised by this at all? I mean we talked about this from the get-go. Saying okay you’re putting sanctions on this stuff, somebody’s gonna buy it. Somebody’s gonna buy it, they’re gonna buy it at a deep discount. Then this has always been the case.
I’ve gone back to, remember the Clintons, Bill Clinton’s one of his fundraisers and buddies. Remember Denise Rich and her husband, Mark Rich. Remember him? He was the one that was pardoned when Clinton was on his way out the door. He was in trouble for trading Iranian oil out of Switzerland and that’s where he lived. He ended up getting pardoned. Again, you know, you put sanctions on Cuba, okay? What happens?
They’re not really they don’t really sell anything. I mean, they’re not selling oil or anything. Yeah, they exported sugar for a long period of time, but that business is a disaster. What good is it actually going to do Cuba? Yeah, it might work. But any of these countries that are, you know, pushing out commodities. It doesn’t. It doesn’t. People want them. They will strike a deal. Watchdog on Wall Street dot com.
