Rhode Island forces Independent Contractors to pay the state

So Rhode Island is putting out a bill that is, it’s scary. It’s frightening, it’s unconstitutional, and it’s gonna be a test run for other blue states, a grand effort to go after independent contractors. So what are they going to do? They passed the law forcing independent contractors to register with the government. That’s right. They gotta register with the government and they gotta pay them $50. Start with this, first and foremost, who the flip do you think you are? See United States of America, people earning a living, they gotta pay you for the right to earn a living? I remember this just happened to me. When I was in between offices, I took out a flex space and it was in since Sarasota, Florida. And they said, oh, you’re gonna work here. You’ve gotta pay the city some sort of fee. I was like, have them come and take it because I ain’t gonna pay it. I’m not paying the city for the right to feed my family. You guys forget what the hell country you’re living in? Anyway, New Jobs America, Mike. Hruby told Fox News Digital about the worker reaction, shock and horror. Nothing positive at all. If you are a freelancer, a self-employed person, any driver or delivery individual, you’re going to have to register. What it is, is a power grab, but it’s a little bit more than that. They’re going to put together a database that’s searchable. Kind of have that database there because again, this is all about trying to get these people to unionize. Yep, yep. Rhode Island has 885,000 self-employed gig workers who make up 27% of the state’s small business demographic. Again, gonna go after them. A public searchable database and it will, the relationship between the contractor and the business hiring the contractor. Oh, you got all sorts of privacy concerns here. You think about some of the things that can actually happen with this type of information if you wanted to target a contractor or you wanted to target some sort of an employer out there. You wanna target an independent contractor, let’s say, because you don’t like them. or they’re outspoken about something and you just don’t like who they are. Well, this is a tool. This is a tool. You can go after them. I don’t know where these people get off in these power grabs. I mean, for crying out loud, the whole concept, you know, man’s home is his castle. You should be able to work here in this country, go out and earn a living without everyone trying to disturb it. Mark my words. Rhode Island is going to start this. And this is gonna be there in New York, it’s gonna be in Massachusetts, it’s gonna be in Connecticut, all the left-wing lunatic states. Yep, pay us, pay us our money, pay your fare.
