Relief For Small Businesses Hit Hard By Tariffs On China
(00:00.514)
Could it be? Might we have a little small business tariff relief? Yeah, the business community is, and a lot of United States centers are reaching out to Jameson Greer, who is the US trade representative about providing exclusions from tariffs for small businesses because in essence, they’re saying the American dream disappears and they’re not wrong.
Stephen Miller yesterday was being interviewed and he kind of brushed off the statement from the Chamber of Commerce saying that, well, there’s going to be big tax cuts and that’s what small businesses are going to benefit from. Tax cuts are just an extension of what they have going on and I want to push forward with those unless of course they lower the tax.
on businesses corporate tax. But again, most businesses are sub-chapter S, meaning that’s not gonna really hit them or help them anyway. again, I don’t know, but we’re seeing some signs here where politicians are getting the calls. They’re getting the phone calls, small businesses are reaching out and there’s pushback.
So hopefully, God willing, we’ll have some sort of small business exclusion from tariffs. The only thing bothered me was that Senator Rand Paul met with the trade rep, and he basically said the meeting was like going to an industrial policy meeting at the Soviet Union. You have to be nice to the commissar, because if you’re nice to the commissar, they’ll be queathed upon you exemptions.
not something we want to hear. Again, I’ve talked about that in the past. Who has access? Who can actually get things done? Obviously big businesses can. And when you have that, again, carve outs, handouts, giveaways, we’re all supposed to be equal under the law. But when it comes to small business, they’re getting smacked upside the head. Let’s see what happens. See what happens. Again, second one today. You’re saying there’s a chance.
