Porsche goes Woke
It really is amazing to me what companies will do to tarnish their brand. Again, I don’t know who they hire for marketing personnel or whatever that they think might float at this point in time, but this is sheer stupidity. Luxury sports car maker Porsche basically put out a commercial on YouTube and they edited out the statue. It’s a famous statue of Jesus. um, in Lisbon, Portugal. And they, they were, the video was celebrating 60 years of its 9-11 model. Um, it’s no longer, they pulled it down. They pulled the ad down after people caught word of this. And, uh, hey, Porsche, why did you erase the statue of Jesus Christ from a, your video filmed in Lisbon? And what, again, why would you do that? Why would you film? in a predominantly Catholic country, Portugal, that this, it’s an iconic statue. It was built because the Portuguese, they didn’t bear the brunt of World War II. And they put it up there and said that they were protected. In a statement to Fox Business, Porche said that they can fully understand the hurt that this has caused. As the company confirmed, the advert did not include the Cristal Ray statue and had been removed. The erasure of the monument, which was completed in the 1950s, is a representation of Portugal’s gratitude for evading the horrors of World War II. People flipped out online calling the company woke. I don’t get it. I really don’t know what companies try to do this to themselves. That is a quick story on the opposite end of this spectrum. We’re going out to dinner. I’m at this, I’m in Paros in Greece, five, six days ago. And we’re sitting, having adult beverages outside this beautiful, a beautiful bar called Medusa. And, you know, I see walking up the hill towards this barn music is playing it’s lively when I see a procession coming up with the with the Orthodox priest and they’re carrying an icon it’s possession in candles as soon as it’s coming up there the music shut off at the bar all of the by everybody and everybody just stopped they walked through and this is at a hoppin place stopped paid reverence blessed themselves as it went through. You see, this is how things are supposed to be. And right after watching that, and I’m talking with my friends with it, and I’m like, if this were to happen, this would have happened back in New York City right now, they try to do a procession like this, and you shut the music down. No, no, they would spite it. They would play it louder. Anyway, Watchdog on wallstreet.com.
