Mexico’s Cartel Crisis & The U.S. Response: Are We Headed for a New Drug War?
(00:00.468)
Okay, we’re have ourselves a new Mexican drug war. I’ve been covering the Trump administration and what’s going on in the Caribbean. And again, we don’t know what pressure is gonna be brought to bear on Venezuela and trying to get Maduro out. we, don’t know, I think we’re what, like 10, 12 votes now that have been taken out. And I’ve given my commentary on that.
But last week I also made the point about Mexico. Now over the weekend in Moralia, Mexico, the young people in the community broke into the government palace, chanting for justice after the mayor of their town was gunned down by drug cartels. He, 47 year old mayor, his name is Carlo
Manzo, Carlos Manzo, a very fierce critic of the president of Mexico, this shine bomb, and basically critical because she was not doing a damn thing when it comes to cartels and organized crime. He was assassinated the day of the dead events and he was assassinated. I just want to put this in perspective.
30,000, they estimate over 30,000 cartel related murders each year in Mexico. And it’s interesting too as well. Scheinbaum, for some reason, know, it’s looking a lot like, you we always like to point at the various different critics of Putin ending up falling out of windows. Yeah, the critics of Scheinbaum out there, the ones that want to crack down on the cartels.
Yeah, They end up dead too.

they end up dead too. I mentioned this, know, I will go to Mexico and quite frankly, if I was president of the United States, I would, I put out a very, make it very clear. I tell you, I don’t want you going there.
I don’t want you going there. Too many of your fellow citizens have been infected with fentanyl and Trank and all these other poisons that are coming from Mexico, not Colombia. Not coming from Colombia. Not coming from Venezuela, but they’ve been coming from Mexico. they’re the damn thing. It’s about as corrupt as corrupt could be. And we could definitely.
put the screws to Mexico. For whatever reason, we like putting the screws to Canada more than we do Mexico. Again, I still can’t get my arms around all of that. But as it stands right now, okay, this is the latest. Trump administration has begun detailed planning for a new mission to send American troops and intelligence officers into Mexico to target drug cartels. This is according to
Two US officials and two former senior US officials familiar with the effort, the early stages of training for the potential mission, which would include ground operations inside Mexico, has already begun. The two officials said they say it’s not imminent. Again, we don’t know if we’re putting these feelers out to put pressure on the Mexican government, which again is something I can see Trump doing in the same way that I think he’s putting pressure on Maduro to get the hell out of Dodge with
our ships in that region. They say the troops, many would be from the Joint Special Operations Command, would operate under the authority of the US intelligence community known as Title 50 status. That would open a completely new front on the whole drug thing. And again, the president of Mexico has most pushed back on this. And I think that that could be a bit problematic, obviously.

I people like I said we could put the screws to them and their economy in a Heartbeat if we really wanted to as far as tourism dollars and a myriad of other things So you either you fix this or else? But again, I do think that there’s just way too many moneyed interests that are invested in Mexico in more ways than one big business big corporation after that again, right big checks
And that’s always what it comes down to. People that are in positions of power, Washington DC, I’ve laid it out and how they, the money that they have to raise, basically what they are, they’re glorified fundraisers that are also influencers on TV. That’s basic, what your members of Congress do. And again, low lying fruit, big businesses that have no problem cutting a check as long as you vote the right way.
Again, if you had people that were on the up and up, we had term limits here. If we had real campaign, finance reform, we could clean a lot of these things up. Most certainly could clean a lot of things up. But again, that’s again, that’s taking power away from these people that have gotten enormously wealthy in the wealthiest area in the entire country, which is Washington, D.C.
not really interested in solving the problem. So we’ll see what’s going to happen. Hopefully, hopefully this is just, know, again, the president and putting various different stuff out in the media to force the hand of Scheinbaum and actually maybe do something when it comes to these cartels. But I don’t, I don’t see Trump, I don’t see Trump putting troops on the ground. I just don’t see him doing it. Watchdogonwallstreet.com
