Every single time there’s a problem, there’s an issue, the government steps in and you know what? Oh, we’re gonna fix it, we’re gonna make it okay. All the King’s horses and all the King’s men riding in and guess what? They don’t put Humpty back together again, but they do something. They take more and more of our freedoms away. I was a story in the Wall Street Journal talking about the Securities and Exchange Commission, who’s my regulator, and they’ve…
They’ve now got a system in place. It’s called the Consolidated Audit Trail or CAT. They actually put this out in 2016. And they did this in 2016. And they said that they were doing it to prevent problems like the flash crash. Remember the flash crash from back in 2010? Basically, it’s gonna allow them to surveil markets. Okay.
You want to make sure that there’s no manipulation. I get that. That’s part of what the Securities and Exchange Commission is supposed to do. Actually, let’s go over what the Securities and Exchange Commission is supposed to do. Protect investors, maintain fair and orderly and efficient markets, and to facilitate capital formation. Well, I’m not gonna get into the argument whether or not they do that or they don’t do that, but we’ve discussed that in the past.
But this new thing that they wanna do, this cap, is going to allow them, they’re actually creating a database, a database of every single transaction, stock transaction that is made by you or I, anybody. They’re gonna track it. They’re gonna know what’s in your portfolio. What the hell business is it of yours? Again.
These power grabs scare the crap out of me. I mean, every single time, well, whether it be 9-11 and the Patriot Act. Again, I’m going back to 2010 again. That’s where we had Julian Assange and WikiLeaks where we learned that the government’s basically looking and surveilling all of our searches and our emails. People, when is this, when is it gonna end?

What is it gonna end? We continue to listen to these powers that be saying that they need to do this, have to do this for our own safety. Are you buying that? No, it seems to me, like again, we’ve taken the Constitution and we don’t even pay attention to it anymore and they do it under the guise under, we’re here to protect you. Right, sure you are.
