Even the Neocons Think America Is Losing Iran
(00:00.428)
No joy in neoconville. Yeah, the neocons basically, you know, well, we’re $40 trillion in debt. can thank them for that. But they, you know, they’re pretty much consistent in their love for war. And I was actually shocked. This is this kind of blew my mind to some degree. One of the biggest neocons out there is a guy by the name of Bob Kagan.
You might be familiar with Bob Kagan because his wife is that cray cray Victoria Nuland super hawkish former senior US advisor was she was actually part of the whole get the color revolution started up there in the Ukraine. And then we’re dealing with all the problems with that today. This guy, Bob Kagan, he’s the co founder of project for the new American century. One of the most
you know, talking imperialist neocon think tank in Washington, DC. Arnaud Bertrand put out an interesting piece about this Atlantic article that he just put out because again, this is a guy who spent his entire life advocating for American military interventions, in particular, in the Middle East very much in favor of the Iraq war, his brother, Frederick
Kagan was one of the key architects of the Iraq surge. So again, this is not, these aren’t the hippies hanging out at the Grateful Dead show by any stretch of the imagination. He put out a piece in the Atlantic, which again, is a pro-war mainstream media outlet. He writes, and this is where I really hope and pray.
that they’re wrong again. Again, they’re never right on anything, but I really hope they’re wrong on this one. He’s saying that the United States suffered a total defeat in Iran that has no precedent in US history and can quote, neither be repaired nor ignored. Holy schnikes. Here’s some of the arguments that he has made. He argues.
(02:25.1)
that this war and he’s saying that we’ve been defeated is very different than what happened in Afghanistan. In Vietnam. He says that the defeats in Vietnam and Afghanistan were costly, but did not do lasting damage to America’s overall position in the world. He said defeat in the present confrontation with Iran will be of an entirely different
character.
He says that Iran will never relinquish Hormuz and use it as selective leverage. Iran will be able not only to demand tolls for passage, but to limit transit to those nations with which it has good relations. He also states that Iran has no interest in returning to the status quo.
(03:26.222)
Okay, I see that. I see that again. I’m trying to dig further into this again, hoping and praying that this guy is wrong. He’s saying that most Gulf states will have no choice but to accommodate Iran, making it the most dominant regional power. He says the United States will have proved itself a paper tiger forcing the Gulf and other Arab states to accommodate
I ran.

military impossibility to reopen Hormuz. He says if the United States with its mighty Navy can’t or won’t open up the strait, no coalition of forces with just a fraction of our capability will be able to do it either. He agrees, talks about the global chain reaction, that this is a global strategic failure that fundamentally changes the US position in the world.
As he puts it, America’s once dominant position in the Gulf is just the first of many casualties. America’s allies in East Asia and Europe must wonder about American staying power in the event of future conflicts. Our weapon stocks have been depleted, our credibility shattered. He writes, just a few weeks, a war with a second ranked power have reduced American weapon stocks to perestly
low levels with no quick remedy. And site says our allies must wonder about American staying power in the event of future conflicts. Not
Not a very, you know, encouraging piece. And again, this is in the Atlantic, very much a pro war paper. And now you’re starting to lose the neocons on us. I’ve seen a bit of a rush out there from others going on mainstream media outlets saying that Iran is just about ready to cave. It’s going to be over soon. I don’t know. I don’t know. What I do know, what I do know is that again, we’re feeling it here.
Americans are getting ticked off to the effect where the president is now looking to get rid of the federal gas tax, which I think is about 18 cents a gallon. 18 cents again, it’s more revenue that’s not going to be going to the Treasury. Our deficit for this year is $2 trillion. This is obviously going to make it worse. We obviously going to have to pay back the tariffs. That’s just starting up as well.
(06:11.406)
I guess we’re just going to put more of this on the kids credit card. I actually I’m consistent on this. Okay. And people might get upset that I’m saying this. I think we should have a much higher national gas tax when we go to war. I think our wars need to be paid for. You want to take us to war? All right. Tell the American people, you know, we’re going to war. Now I’m not going to you’re not going to go through Congress. I’m going to do declare and do decree it.
But force forces to pay for it Great way to do that make the gas tax higher. I know people will look at me with like I have two heads You’re calling for higher taxes. I’m just calling for fiscal responsibility That’s all I’m calling for just simple as that again Hoping hoping this will end sooner rather than later. We do have the president going to China Maybe there could be some pressure brought to bear from there
I don’t know. I don’t know. But when you start to lose some of the biggest neocons out there, that’s not a very good sign. Watchdogonwallstreet.com.
