$1.5 Trillion Defense Budget: “Insane in the Brain”?
(00:01.072)
we got a defense budget proposed Trump defense budget. The only thing I can think of is the Cypress Hill rap song from the 1990s insane in the membrane insane in the brain. Yeah, one point five trillion. One point five trillion. Obviously, that’s the largest amount in modern history.
1.1 trillion for the Defense Department. Next fiscal year, another 350 billion for critical munitions. I want to expand the defense industrial base and other matters. Other matters. Yeah. Again, $1.5 trillion. The House White House proposed a 10 % reduction of non defense.
spending to about $660 billion. This is for the 2027 fiscal year and additional cuts in subsequent years. These areas are going to hit education, it’s going to have funding for the EPA. Some of the stuff, I don’t mind some of those cuts. I just mind the excessive spending in defense. Now, these are some of the things that Trump wants.
30 million to support the newly established National Fraud Division led by Vice President JD Vance. That’s one big steaming pile of waste right there. I’m just telling you, it is. Okay? Every single president, we’re gonna root out fraud, we’re gonna run out of waste. They don’t do anything. This is just, again, it’s gonna be more, it’s another $30 million that’s gonna go to cronies.
Okay. What difference does it make? They just pardon everybody that they catch with fraud. Seriously. I mean, fraud out there. Let the FBI handle it. We don’t need another government task force to handle this because they’re not going to handle it. Okay. It’s a slush fund. So slush fund for, you know, people to sit on their ass and do nothing in Washington, DC. I’m calling it like I see it. Uh, oh yes. Oh, it hit 10 billion. This is
(02:26.38)
Ridiculous. Mandatory funding to establish a presidential capital stewardship program. This is with the National Park Service. They want to spend $10 billion on Washington DC. No. No. No. I tell you what. You want $10 billion. I tell you what. Why don’t you tax, why don’t we come up with a special tax for all the good workers there in DC.
So they can beautify Washington DC. I have no interest. I have no interest whatsoever. Okay. Nothing greatness. There’s no greatness in Washington DC. Washington DC did not make America great. Doesn’t need another $10 billion. Okay. Like I said, let them, let their own sales raise the sales tax there. If they want to make it pretty pay for that nonsense. I don’t live there. I don’t live there. I can give a rat’s ass quite frankly.
being dead serious. Anyway, the Pentagon portion includes a funding to boost manufacturing of munitions. This is a priority of Deputy Defense Secretary Steve Feinberg. Explain this to me, okay? Again, explain this to me like I am a small child or a golden retriever, okay? 34 ships.
including funding for a new class of battleship named after Trump and new frigates.
65.8 billion for shipbuilding. And also money to build the Golden Dome missile shield.
(04:12.91)
Why why why would we need all these boats? I’m just asking Why do we need all of these boats explain it to me Are we gonna be invading more countries We’re gonna be invading more countries Again, I like to remind everybody that you know where we are located the United States of America And we’ve got this massive ocean on one side massive ocean
On the other side got Canada to the north. You got Mexico. I What do we what do we need with all these boats?
(04:52.942)
34 new ships. Here’s one thing I do like, okay? The budget proposal would bolster military pay, all for that. No problem with that at all. This is in the defense budget. And again,
(05:13.186)
This is so stupid. Some of the ideas, I just beyond stupid. Okay. I haven’t been out to Alcatraz. We made fun of this. We thought it was kind of a bit of a like a joke early on in Trump’s term. I remember he said, who did he send out there? It wasn’t Lutnik. I don’t know. What’s his name? I’ll think of it in a second. But anyway, $150 million to rebuild Alcatraz as a state of the art secure
Why?
(05:49.154)
Why, why, why? We have the super max already. Why, why, why would we do that? It’s a tourist destination. You remember the, it was the guards there pointing out that you have to knock the whole fricking thing down. Okay. The walls are crumbling. Did you honestly think that you’re going to be able to build a prison?
on a rocky little island, okay, in San Francisco Bay for 150 million dollars?
If they ever tried to do this, this project, Gannets in California, would be in the billions and billions of dollars. It starts out at 150 million and it will be billions and billions of dollars. It is brain dead. Okay? Insane in the membrane, insane in the brain, right there. Okay. Trump proposed cutting funding to FEMA.
FEMA and again, this I don’t have a problem with. I think states should handle a lot of this stuff on their own. think most things should be handed back to states. I’m a big 10th amendment guy. This doesn’t make any sense though. Administration would cut 707 million from the Department of Homeland Security cybersecurity agency. No, that’s enormously important.
That’s, mean, again, you want to cripple the United States, take down an electrical grid, mess with the water systems, whatever it may be. And we’ve, we’ve, we’ve done podcasts on this and just the security risks that are out there and just kind of how stupid we handle things here. you really want to cut spending for cyber security? No, that’s dumb. Dumb again, insane in the brain. Okay.
(07:54.422)
Again, this is good. Okay, this is not insane in the brain. Reprivatizing TSA by forcing small airports to hire private security contractors. The administration prefers this approach because private security couldn’t be defunded during the government shutdown. It’s already happened twice this year. Again, just
The way that we overreact to things here in this country again, TSA was formed after September 11th. Yeah, yeah, I get it. You need to check for explosive. You wanna do, I get all that, okay? First thing, and it should have been done prior to September 11th, just ridiculous. Why are pilots not armed and why didn’t they have a lock on the door?
Done. Problem solved.
Problem solved. You don’t need to create, which we did an entirely new, I just, stupid, stupid stuff. 111 billion for the Department of Health and Human Services. Okay, this is a reduction of 15.
$8 billion $5 billion reduction at the National Institutes of Health, elimination of NIH divisions that focus on racial health disparities and transgender health research. Cut it. Cut it. Again, 19 million towards expanding nutritional services. Waste of money. There’s 19 trillion. It’s, it’s, it’s a waste of money. What are you gonna do? You got to print up some brochures telling how people to eat.
(09:40.632)
You’re gonna come up with your new food permit? No. No, not necessary. This is funny. They’re assuming that they’re gonna be collecting almost a half a trillion dollars in tariffs. Right.
And if they did collect a half a trillion dollars in tariffs, they’re collecting them from you and I, they’re not collecting them from China. Nope, they’re collecting them from you and I every independent agency out there says that it can insane in the membrane insane the brain that’s not going to happen. Not going to happen. And it’s kind of silly if you actually think about it half. No, no.
Again, this is not as even this this 1.5 trillion in defense This doesn’t even include the 200 billion that they’re gonna be asking for for Iran at this point in time You want just throwing us out there. I’m sorry. You want Pete Hegseth in charge of this?
Again, you got not many, you know, nobody that quite frankly much in DC that’s really interested in living within their means. I know that you know that we’ve talked about that here on the program, not another dime for the Pentagon, not another dime for defense, unless you root out all of the waste.
You actually audit the Pentagon. You go through that thing and you figure out what you need to get rid of to make the necessary cuts that are out there, not to mention the fact people, these massive weapons systems, which quite frankly are obsolete.
(11:17.23)
obsolete and we haven’t figured out that drone technology is the way to go. mean, ridiculous at some point in time. know, we spend. Nobody spends close to what we spend. What is it like six, seven countries combined? I mean, now it’s I can’t even I don’t have to go back and take a look. You’re to be looking at the next 10, 12 countries at if it’s one point five trillion, not even spending close.
to what we spent.
Why? Again, I talked about the old Dewey-Oxburgh lean, mean fighting machine. There are better ways of doing this. I will not vote for anyone. Anyone that approves a $1.5 trillion defense budget. We are not at war. Technically, we’re not at war.
We haven’t declared war. I’m not voting for that. We’re gonna support the troops. Listen, okay, we’re spending a trillion dollars a year. You wanna support the troops? Real simple, you bring them home. Watchdog on wallstreet.com.
