Why Fact-Checking Trump Has Become an Exercise in Futility

I’m done. I’m out. I quit. I’m done fact checking Trump. get emails. Chris, did you see this? Did you? You to do a podcast on this. You got to cover this. I why I quit. I quit. It doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter. Maybe it’s me. Maybe I just failed to get maybe I’m not in on the whole thing where, you know, you should try to actually get it right.
basically, you know, they just chalk it up to that’s just Trump being Trump. That was the same thing they said about Joe Biden as Joe B and Joe member Obama. I would have messes with Joe. watching, watching him speak the other day in Iowa.
He says he’s got the best polling numbers he’s ever had.
Complete inverse, the worst polling numbers he’s had. then the John Deere thing. The John Deere thing, and I know he’s in Iowa, but he doesn’t care. He doesn’t even know that somebody might fact check what he said. He said that John Deere is opening a new manufacturing plant and he couldn’t remember the state.
It was actually Indiana, but it’s not a manufacturing plant. It’s a bloody distribution facility. The stuff is being manufactured somewhere else. It’s being brought to Indiana and then being distributed. All the parts are being made somewhere else. And then he said that John Deere called off plans to build a production facility in Mexico after he threatened to put tariffs.

on any of Deere’s machinery. No, Deere said no, no changes have been made to their announcement to shift production to Mexico. And the math thing, again, at this point in time, I don’t know why bother, quite frankly. He’s got he’s got really he’s got some issues with math, and I’m not a math genius, but
I know that you cannot lower prices by 1000%. You just can’t. You can’t lower prices by 1000%.

Then after he said it, he said, you could say whatever you want, but it’s Again, he can just he wasn’t kidding when he gave that line that he could shoot somebody on Fifth Avenue and it’d be OK. Again, people. OK, OK. Whatever he comes out of his mouth. It’s extraordinary. It really is. So now I quit. OK, it’s a complete exercise and futility trying to fact check his speeches. Just no rhyming. It doesn’t make any sense. It’s waste of my time.
