Trump Taps Heritage Economist to Fix “Fake” Jobs Data
(00:00.768)
E.J. Antony at BLS, Bureau Labor and Statistics. Let me just put it this way, okay? Donald Trump shouldn’t have fired. He didn’t do himself any favors by firing the former head of the BLS. Maybe should have asked her to resign. But what’s gonna happen now?
E.J. Antony is going to be under the gun because Donald Trump said the numbers were rigged. Said the numbers were rigged. Is it part of his show? Probably. Probably he likes to put on a show, but it’s going to make it much more difficult for E.J. Antony, even if he does an unbelievable job at the BLS, because again, Donald Trump appointed him. He’s from the Heritage Foundation.
His numbers can’t be trusted. You know, you’re going to hear it. The Greek chorus again and again and again. He needs to get this right. There’s been some ideas that he has floated as of late that people are kind of tilting their heads to some degree, talking about the monthly numbers rather than have monthly jobs. Numbers have quarterly jobs. Numbers. I don’t have any problem with that at all.
Quite frankly, I don’t even know why we do quarterly earnings for Crying Out Loud for companies. I think that that’s just a waste of time. I don’t even know if we even need to do it twice a year. think once is plenty. company can make out, put out a statement how things are going, kind of take the temperature down a notch. The reason why we do all this and we report all these numbers and put all this stuff out, again, it’s good for Wall Street, it’s good for business, good for trading. Good for trading, yeah? Everybody can, all the algorithms can get ready to roll.
when you’ve got the Brady Bunch box, the jobs report at the end of the month, same thing holds true with inflation. There’s that police song, too much information. Way too much information. And again, I encourage people to be critical thinkers and be your own do-it-yourself economists. I think people be much better off, quite frankly. I do think that he’s gonna have, you see, have to modernize the BLS and how they go about collecting.

information, the amount of people that are not responding to these various different surveys, quite high. Again, I don’t know why you’re still using snail mail. I don’t know why this hasn’t been simplified. Well, I do. It’s government. But again, I think he’s going to be behind the eight ball. I think he’s going to even have a tough time being confirmed, quite frankly.
I think this is gonna turn into a political show because again, he was also part of that Heritage Foundation, was it the 2025 project that everybody got everybody’s solo left underwear up in a bunch and I don’t even know why it’s not even that radical at all. But anyway, we’re gonna use these numbers, okay, for the Fed to make certain economic decisions. They better be accurate.
They better be accurate. They have to stop playing games. I don’t trust the numbers right now. I don’t think they’re calculated properly right now. I said I’m a better DIY economist than these people at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. It’s a reality. They’ve got to get this right. Again, the numbers being as they are, nobody trusts them at this point in time, not a good place to be in.
Lack of trust in so many different areas of government is really hurting this country at this point in time. Watchdogonwallstreet.com.
