The Real Consequences of Trump’s “Guilty” Verdict
(00:00.43)
All right, we got to do Trump verdict and consequences, consequences first and foremost. OK, I think we’re all we’re all bright enough to understand that there are people out there in the news media that, you know, they’re they’re pundits, they’re they’re paid for contributors that are there. And I want everybody to understand that they essentially.
are actors. They are actors or actresses. Let me, you know, let’s pretend we got Darth Vader. We’re getting voiced by James Earl Jones. James Earl Jones, James Earl Jones did not blow up a planet. He does not, you know, have the dark side of the force. That was a part he played in a movie.
And I’m here to tell you, this is how a lot of your cable news works. They are paid to go on and have certain opinions because they need to have conflict on shows. You got to get your arms around that. I know you’ll be watching a program and you’ll be like, how in the world, where does this guy get this idea from? I’m watching, I was watching CNBC this morning while I was working out.
And, they had, you know, some guy on saying, yes, this is, you know, this is the rule of law and falsifying is, and you could tell that he didn’t even believe his BS that he was putting out there. That’s his job. That’s his job. Now again, okay.
You know, that’s just thinking of thinking of when when Don Corleone rejected Salazzo and the godfather said, hey, you know, listen, if you go on a good luck in your business, as long as it doesn’t conflict with my interests, all of these people out there, all of what they do, this entire industry is in direct conflict. Direct conflict with our interests. That’s why I highly recommend you shut it off.
(02:20.462)
Shut it off. Go on a fast. Go on a cable news fast and you know pick up books. See how much more enlightened you are going to be. Anyway, consequences. Okay. Will a judge jail Trump? Don’t think so. Could happen. Yes, but it’s a question. And again.
cable news. They’ve got a lot to talk about for a period of time. Will voters reelect him? Anyway, this this I want to talk about. You know, there’s various different stories out there. Wall Street Journal, one of their highlights today. Trump guilty verdict rocks the 2024 presidential campaign. No, it didn’t.
I’m here to tell you right now, this didn’t move the needle. Yeah, this didn’t move the needle. You go out and you ask an independent voter whether or not the verdict in this case, now again, you’re dealing with an independent voter. Independent voter, you can have an independent voter that thinks that this trial is a sham. You can have an independent voter that thinks this trial,
is worthy, but that same independent voter is going to be more concerned about the border or maybe inflation or if they are independent to the left, might be abortion. Those issues are going to take precedent over this case, which by the way, it’s May. I know we’re heading into June. It’s going to be a blip down the road. Anyway.
This is the one that, again, could be highly divisive as a country. And this is why, again, we need to understand consequences, consequences for our actions. Let’s play a game of what if. What if Trump loses to Biden?
(04:43.534)
What if Trump loses to Biden and this case gets thrown out on appeal after the election?
(04:55.15)
I, you know, you talk about no faith in the system. you talk about, you know, banana Republic, romancing the stone and Zolo. Yeah. that’s, that’s, that’s no faith in our country. Is it worth it?
Is it worth it? I’d say this straight up to the most ardent, is it worth something like that happening to win that way? I.
(05:29.358)
I don’t even know how you can agree with something like that. You know, the only other time I can think about something that was pretty bad in the sense of, you know, I remember when, but I don’t think it, I think it mattered because I don’t think it was made any difference, it was gonna win anyway. When Harry Reid completely, you remember when Harry Reid completely made up?
The fact that I know somebody in Nevada and he told me that Mitt Romney hasn’t paid taxes and years and years is just complete not a lie. And then, you know, after Romney lost, he was asked about that lie said, well, we won, didn’t we? Or, you know, we can go back to Dan Rather and fake, but true documents. We’ve it’s nation and our election has taken.
Hits man, hanging chads in Florida. But there’s a limit to how many hits we could take.
There’s a limit to all that. And the people that, they keep pushing it. They do.
Anyway, the cases and I’ve gone over this in regards to, yeah, everything in regards to this thing is a stretch. It is a stretch, what they did. And again, the argument being put out there is if this was anybody else, it wouldn’t happen.
(07:06.19)
You’re right. You’re right. But, but we’ve seen this before too. Remember when they decided to go after, I mean, I’m sorry, this is a different type of case. They put Martha Stewart in jail. Remember that thing? in clone.
Nonsense. Yeah, yeah, you talk about lawfare. You know, prosecutors use, you know, do this all the time to make names for themselves and try to get themselves into higher office. You know, Alvin Bragg right now is like, all right, I did it for you. Now what are you going to do for me? I want to be governor.
And again, this is our pathetic system at work. Again, the entire case completely cagey as hell. But again, but what took place was pretty cagey too. You know, Trump still denying the fact that he didn’t mess around with the porn star.
believe that? Believe that? Again, you’re talking about a stretch. That’s stretch too.
That’s pretty much a stretch too. And again, why would you be paying off somebody if you didn’t do it and there was no proof of anything? Why would you pay somebody off that type of money? I get it, it was right around the Access Hollywood video time, but you’ve been known for this stuff, man. You were on your third wife at the time.
(08:59.054)
Okay, everybody knew you’re a bit of a cad. You kind of courted, you’ve always wanted to be on page six back in the eighties and nineties with Cindy Adams writing about you out there on the New York party scene.
(09:13.71)
Yeah, you could have come out. I mean, I talked about that scene. I forget what context I talked about it on the show that scene in the movie, The Natural. Robert Redford, you know, he’s in a hospital in bed and you know, his old girlfriend that he cheated on comes to visit him. And, you know, he talks about some mistakes in life you never stop paying for. Maybe he should have head in that direction.
You know what it worked for? The guy repeatedly lied about it, but they eventually let it go. And it’s a similar case, except this case was federal. Do you remember John Edwards? How many of you remember the John Edwards thing? I mean, he raised money, raised money from his supporters to pay off, what was your name? Riel Hunter.
to pay off Riel Hunter. And he had a kid with Riel Hunter. His wife had terminal breast cancer at the time and he came clean. He came clean and he apologized and it went a different way. I don’t know, again, I don’t know if it would have went that way for Trump. But again, you know, trouble does seem to follow the guy.
justify my saying that’s okay for a prosecutor? Again, we all know this is politics. Everyone knows this is politics.
What you need again, like I said before, is for Trump to come on and say, that’s it. That’s it. I’m not gonna do this anymore. This is not gonna happen. It’s not gonna happen. I thought about this. I know I’m self -representing a lot today on these various different things. There was a song that I happen to like, a Coldplay song. It’s called Death and All His Friends. And the…
(11:22.51)
There’s the chorus in the song is I love it. And I had to get it exact. I said, No, I don’t want a battle from beginning to end. I don’t want a cycle of recycled revenge. I don’t want to follow death and all of his friends. No, I don’t want a battle from beginning to end. I don’t want a cycle of recycled revenge. I don’t want to follow death and all of his friends. And I’m going to say it again. I know I’m going to get pushed back from the crowd. But sorry guys, I mean, you break the cycle, you break the cycle, you win. Watchdog on wallstreet .com.
