RFK Jr and We the People Got Shafted
(00:00.462)
RFK Jr. got shafted and in the process of RFK Jr. getting shafted, we the people have gotten shafted. John Fund, interesting piece. John Fund’s a writer for National Review and also contributes to the Wall Street Journal. And in essence, CNN, we got this debate next week, blackballed Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Again, the reason they had certain requirements in order to participate in the debate, but they were designed on purpose because they knew there’d be no way that RFK Jr. would be able to meet them at the time of this debate. Back in May, a Trump official told the Washington Post a CNN producer had promised that RFK will not be
on stage. A Biden advisor told Axios, our criteria for a one -to -one debate was made clear publicly. It was made clear to CNN and they understood our position when we accepted their offer. Again, CNN won’t even comment, won’t even respond to any inquiries in regards to any of these negotiations. Because of the timing of this debate, how early it is,
made it basically impossible for Kennedy to meet the criteria. CNN’s requirement would have actually excluded Ross Perot, who participated in the 1992 debates because he was on the ballot in states with only 119 electoral votes as of mid -June that year. He completed the process in many more states, but those signatures weren’t verified until September.
according to Richard Winger, editor of Ballot Access News. CNN’s ballot access requirement is irrational because Mr. Kennedy has filed signatures in states with 310 electoral votes and is almost certain to make all 50 state ballots. Actually, Trump and Biden currently are not on any state ballots because they haven’t been nominated yet. Then there’s Bradley Smith, former FEC chairman.

says that while technically Kennedy’s complaint looks like an issue, the FEC would likely say that as a matter of prosecutorial discretion, they wouldn’t pursue this. The FEC’s rule has never been tested in court, where it would face a strong argument that it is unconstitutional, at least as applied to news organizations. In the spirit of transparency and fairness, CNN should answer questions about how far it stretched to accommodate the wishes of the major parties. Smith concludes, and I agree.
There’s an iron rule of third parties. Third parties always get screwed. And in the process, we always get screwed. I mentioned this yesterday, do a compare and contrast to see how comprehensive Kennedy’s website is and where he is and providing where he stands on the issues and Biden and Trump. And again, tell me it doesn’t belong there. Well, he can’t win. There’s no way he can win. I don’t know. Maybe maybe he’s got some good ideas.
Are you that frightened? You can’t listen to anyone else’s ideas? That’s part of the problem we have here in this country, folks. We don’t listen. Everybody’s got horse blinders on. Everybody knows everything. Nobody is willing to listen. I’m in Plato’s cave and I’m looking at the shadows. That’s it. That’s my beliefs. I can’t listen to anybody else. Watchdog on wallstreet .com.
