Massive Layoffs at UPS
(00:00.25)
Okay, let’s go back. We’ll fire up the DeLorean and the flux capacitor. Let’s go back to this past August right here on the podcast radio show, we talked about some of these contracts that were getting signed in particular, the UPS contract, which was ginormous, ginormous. Again, the Biden administration talking it up. We’re the most pro-union president.
in history and buying cheering on the Teamsters. They got that deal that they wanted. And what did we tell you? What was our prediction? Kind of like Mr. T from Rockety. Prediction, pain. No, it wasn’t prediction, pain. It was prediction. Well, yeah, pain. Layoffs. And sure enough, UPS is gonna be cutting 14% of its workforce. 12,000 people. Now, in their statement, they said it was due to some declining packages, but it also wasn’t that too. They also said it was because of the union contract. Again, obvious. You see, they’re a business and they have to make money. Their contract was so bloody absurd. I took a look at it. I said, this was absolutely inevitable that this company was going to have to start
laying people off and that’s exactly what happened. This is the same concept when it comes to minimum wage. Get the various different people out there that love pushing minimum wage and you try to tell business owners what they should be paying someone. Well, a business owner is going to only pay somebody what they can afford to pay somebody. If they can’t afford to pay them, they’re going to eliminate that position. It’s just that simplest wide minimum wage to me is absolute malarkey. Watchdog on wallstreet.com.
