How to Alienate a Key Ally in One Move
(00:00.402)
Didn’t have this on my bingo card this morning and now we pissed off Poland and we pissed off the Polish people and I should maybe be aware by the last name. Yeah, I’m half Polish half Italian. My Italian listeners love giving me crap about that. But again, Poland’s killing it right now. Anyway, neither here nor there. One of our strongest allies in Europe, Poland. We’ve managed to piss them off now.
This is the same Poland that spends 5 % of its GDP on defense. So we have this Tom Rose. Tom Rose. don’t know how he got the job. got, he had some radio show on Sirius for a while. I got to see how he became ambassador to Poland. The US ambassador to Poland cut ties.
with the country’s speaker of parliament. Now this is something that happens, this is something that’s really usually normally pretty egregious. He says it for outrageous and unprovoked insults against Donald Trump. What was the insult? The Polish speaker of the parliament refused to support a Nobel Peace Prize for Donald Trump. This was what the
the ambassador, the US ambassador to Poland put out effective immediately we will have no further dealings, contacts or communications with parliament speaker, Włodzimierz Zazaski. This is ambassador Tom Rose. He put it out on X. Again, the prime minister of Poland, one Donald Tusk, who has always been very pro-American.
Responded. Responded. Mr. Ambassador Rose, allies should respect, not lecture each other. At least this is how we here in Poland understand partnership. Ooh, okay. So what was the big offense to Donald Trump? He does not deserve, well, he said that Donald Trump does not deserve the prize.

He said Donald Trump had disrespected Poland as an ally by saying in December that America’s NATO allies had not offered much support to the US led war in Afghanistan. also said that Trump has been destabilizing international organizations such as the UN and the World Health Organization. again, this, I was asking, he is left of center in the Polish parliament.
And that’s his opinion. He’s not going to support Donald Trump for the Nobel Prize. So, Rose comes out. He said his remarks were outrageous. That’s outrageous. Outrageous and unprovoked insults.
(03:18.83)
What did he say that wasn’t true? Again, we’re going to play a game. What did he say that wasn’t accurate there? OK, one may have an opinion saying, no, Trump’s not hurting international organizations. OK, but that’s an opinion that’s not really it. Is it an insult? Unprovoked insults. Had made the speakers a serious impediment to otherwise excellent relations with Tusk’s government.
We will not permit anyone to harm US-Polish relations, nor disrespect Donald Trump, who has done so much for Poland and the Polish people.
yeah.

U.S. Ambassador Addis, and nothing but the greatest respect and admiration for Tusk, who he called a model ally and a great friend of the United States. All of obviously. Polish people were not too happy. Again, if let’s say Barack Obama was president. And, know, you had some foreign.
and bad or like disrespect the President of United States. I’m like, wait a second, that’s President United States. That’s some of your display or you know, just getting involved in our internal power just. No, I mean, might want want to do that. So there was online criticism. They’re like, you know, what are you doing here? And then the bloody ambassador to it’s again, it’s almost like he was drunk tweeting.
is responding to Polish citizens online in the middle of the night talking about should the United, should we take our soldiers and our equipment with us and our way out?
again, I don’t know where this is gonna end up, but you might want to I’m saying you just might want to recall this guy. You might want to recall this guy. Yeah, you know, somebody put it to me this way. They’re saying you to turn to turn Poland and Denmark towards anti Americanism. They said it’s like akin to turning
Alabama and Oklahoma into Democrats turning them into blue states. Yep. We’re figuring out a way to do that.
