Here’s How Trump’s Tariffs Are Killing Jobs for Young People, Even in PR and Marketing
(00:00.398)
Tariffs are everywhere. I’m on the road. I’m on the road right now. Wonderful weekend. I was at my son’s graduation and talking to lot of young people, some of the family members of my son’s friends, the various different things that they’re doing. These are people that graduated several years ago, various different jobs, Boston, New York, Nashville.
in a myriad of different positions, stuff like public relations, for example. And talking to these kids and what’s going on, they’re frightened. Their companies are laying people off and they’re laying people off because of tariffs. You say to yourself, what in the world is public relations or marketing or whatever it may be? What does that have to do with tariffs? Well,
companies, companies that are getting hit by tariffs that they represent, what’s the first thing they’re doing? They’re cutting back on their PR. They’re cutting back on their advertising and all of these other budgets, companies that have to source in China in particular. And it’s kind of frightening if you think about it. Again, this is what happens, and I try to explain, is when you
You start trying to tinker around with the free market. It’s like, it’s like Fauci, you know, and his buddies at the National Institutes of Health doing all sorts of gain of function research with viruses. Why would you do that? It’s the same thing when you mess around with the free market and you think you can run it out of somewhere. You don’t know what you’re going to mess with. And right now, right now it is getting
I know we got a big tariff reprieve right now, but businesses are scared. They’re holding back They’re making certain decisions for the future and they’re saying hey, I just can’t right now. I can’t make that investment I’m not gonna go out there and buy those advertisements. Now you think what this is gonna filter? Yeah, down to. It’s gonna filter down to technology companies across the board This is why it’s it’s really really important

that Donald Trump get the message, but quick. Scott was sent on, what was it? Meet the press again this past weekend, talking about the tariffs. Donald Trump is gonna decide what reciprocity is gonna go here, there, and everywhere. We gotta get these things back down. I mean, 10 % is too high. 10 % is too high. You wanna deal with countries based upon how they’re treating us.
For example, they always bring up autos all the time. What are our autos being banged out for in Europe compared to the United States? was funny. Navarro. Navarro put out a tweet saying, a lot of Europeans would love to drive Ford Mustangs and Chevy Silverados. And how do you say he put it? He’s like, you know, you don’t see these things in the streets of Rome. A Chevy Silverado in the streets of Rome, Peter?
You couldn’t get the damn car down the street for crying out loud. It’s too wide. Not to mention the fact, you know how much they pay for fuel over there compared to the United States? They don’t have, you know, big expensive cars because they can’t afford to ride them there. You’re talking $7, $8 a gallon for gasoline equivalent. Obviously it’s in liters over there, but that’s what it is. That’s a big hit.
And granted, okay, I’ve said this before, you do go over to Europe, you do see smaller American cars there. Again, you’ll see more Fords. I see more Fords when I’m in Europe, cars, trucks, than I do here in the United States. We need to get back to, I’m talking about in terms of Atlas Shrugged and John Galtman, just to get out of the way.
Just get out of the way. Make it easy to do business here in the United States. Get rid of regulations. You were doing that. Stop with this tariff nonsense before you break more stuff. Watchdog on WallStreet.com.
