COMEDY: 50% of EV Owners Want Their Gas Cars Back…
(00:00.334)
OK, this shouldn’t come as much surprise. EV owners and buyers remorse. Ouch. Ouch. Almost 50 % of EV owners in the United States said that they were very likely to switch back to owning a gas powered vehicle in their next purchase. Is that kind of like de -transitioning?
Anyway, yeah, again, they’re surprised all of the consultants out there. Really? Really? It’s that surprising to you. Have you ever used an electric vehicle? Tried to rent electric vehicles? You ever thought this thing through? Again, these are all Ivy League consultants from McKinsey shocked. Shocked by the fact that 50%, 50 % want to de -transition.
She had a conversation with a friend of mine. He had a Rivian. Rivian is the high end truck and SUV manufacturer. Kind of looks like one of those Thomas the train type things. It’s like that they kind of face to him, whatever it may be. And I asked him, I could see he got rid of it. Had it for a couple of years and he just got rid of it. And I asked him, I said, you know,
What happened? I thought you really loved it. He said, you know, I loved it. I was great. It was great for, you know, being here around town. But all my kids are gone now. My wife and I want to start going on road trips. And it’s just too difficult to do so. Yeah, again, I I’ve tried to explain this before. I don’t hate EVs. OK, I don’t. They have a place. They have a purpose.
They’re just not for everyone and everything. And more and more of these EVs that I’m seeing being rolled out, especially by American manufacturers, these massive, massive SUVs and trucks with these ginormous batteries. I’m like, are you out of your mind? With a sticker well above six figures? How does that make any sense at all?
