(00:00.544)
Whoa, this is ugly. You got some ugly, ugly jobs numbers for recent grads. The unemployment rate for recent male graduates has jumped more than two percentage points over the past 12 months. It’s at 7%. That’s the highest we’ve seen since freaking COVID, okay?
outside of COVID, it’s the highest we’ve seen in 13 years. Men age 22 to 27 with recent college degrees are, again, we talked about this, we did a podcast, it’s about the same rate as those without a college education. Women, on the other hand, it’s a little bit different. Women’s unemployment rate,
is at 4%. Why? What is the answer? What is the reason behind this? Women are filling healthcare jobs in large numbers. That is a sector that continues to grow and obviously it’s very resistant to any sort of downturn. You’re not going to be replaced by AI. Again, 50,000 of female graduates, 135,000 new jobs last year came from healthcare. Twice the total for male grads across the entire
you know, the entire sector altogether. I watched this happen in some colleges and universities have actually gotten smart when it comes to this and having nursing schools, putting in nursing schools. I it used to be back in the day, you know, why would you go, you know, why would you go to a super expensive school to get a nursing degree? Because again, that the return on investment just wasn’t there. I know Langone.
land going health in New York City, think nurses starting at $135,000 a year. That’s the reality, that is the terrain. Jobs in finance are few and far between now. AI is replacing quite a bit.

Jobs that, job or you’re putting together their prospectus for some investment banking deal, whatever it may be. You you take six, seven, eight kids, few weeks to put that perspective, perspective together, maybe a little bit less, maybe a little bit more. Now it’s done in a day with AI and they just have one person check the entire thing over. And this trend is going to continue. It’s gonna be interesting moving forward.
seeing Mike Rowe out and about on a myriad of different programs. And I love Mike Rowe talking about the jobs of the future. And they’re saying HVAC electricians, plumbers, contractors, carpenters, welders, you name it, you’re not going to be replaced by AI. Watchdog on wallstreet.com.
