I Refuse to Keep Voting for Crooks Who Pardon Ponzi Schemers

Stop Telling Me I Have to Vote

I am going to be blunt. The emails and messages I keep getting from listeners trying to guilt me into voting are not going to work. The argument always goes the same way. If you don’t vote Republican, the communists win. The Islamists take over. They are going to start cutting kids at school. Come on. Go sell that somewhere else.

I am not buying the fear-based sales pitch. And that is exactly what it is. A sales pitch. The same one they have been running for decades.

The Pardon Nobody Wants to Talk About

Somebody sent me a story about Trump pardoning a veteran who was wrongfully prosecuted. Fine. But let me tell you what I covered on this program that nobody in mainstream media wants to touch:

• Trump pardoned financial criminals who ran full-blown investment Ponzi schemes
• These were people who systematically targeted and robbed senior citizens
• We are talking about fraud on a scale that makes the Marc Rich pardon look like a parking ticket
• And the Republican base cheered it because their guy did it

So spare me the moral superiority argument. Both parties protect their donors and their cronies. The only difference is the branding.

Dante’s Inferno Politics

The best metaphor I have for the current political conversation is Dante’s Inferno. Different circles of hell based on how bad the sin is. The entire political debate in America right now is about which candidate lives on a slightly higher circle. They are all still in hell. We are just arguing about the floor plan.

That is not a reason to show up and vote. That is a reason to demand better candidates.

I Left the GOP Over 20 Years Ago

I walked away from the Republican Party more than two decades ago because I saw the fraud for what it was. But I kept showing up on election day, holding my nose, and voting for less bad. Results:

• Spending exploded under both parties
• Debt ballooned regardless of who sat in the White House
• Financial predators got pardoned while the people they robbed got nothing
• Ron DeSantis, a governor celebrated as a conservative hero, will not even endorse a candidate in his own state

The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. I have been stupid long enough.

The Financial Reality Nobody Will Say Out Loud

Here is what this comes down to for everyday Americans:

• Every dollar you have saved is being quietly devalued by bipartisan deficit spending
• The political class on both sides protects Wall Street and punishes Main Street
• Pardoning Ponzi schemers sends a clear message about whose side Washington is really on
• Voting for less bad has not produced less bad outcomes for working Americans

My listeners are not dumb. A huge portion of the messages I am getting are from people who are done too. They are not going to vote either. And I think they are the most rational people in the room right now.
